12 Years of Scaling Up India’s National Security

Under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India’s security doctrine has moved from hesitation to hard response, from dependence to self-reliance, and from defensive thinking to strategic dominance.

The last 12 years have built a Surakshit Bharat that protects its borders, punishes terror, modernises its forces and strengthens indigenous defence capability.

Major achievements:

• About 93% of India-Pakistan border fenced
A strong physical security grid has strengthened surveillance, control and response along one of India’s most sensitive borders.

• Almost 80% of India-Bangladesh border fenced
Border management has been scaled up to curb illegal infiltration, smuggling and cross-border threats.

• 82% decline in North-East insurgency
The Modi Government’s focus on security, development and connectivity has changed the ground reality in the North-East.

• Zero incidents of stone pelting in J&K since 2023
A region once used as a theatre of unrest is now witnessing a new era of stability, development and national integration.

• First national counter-terror strategy launched
PRAHAAR has strengthened coordinated counter-terror response, ensuring better preparedness against evolving threats.

• Operation Sindoor sent a clear message
More than 100 terrorists and 9 terror bases were eliminated, proving that New India does not tolerate terror, it destroys terror infrastructure.

• 20% destruction of Pakistan Air Force infrastructure during Operation Sindoor
India’s response showed precision, strength and strategic confidence.

• 6,800 km roads constructed by BRO in forward areas
Border infrastructure is now being built at mission speed, improving troop movement, logistics and operational readiness.

• ₹27,000 crore approved for 52 defence satellites
India is strengthening space-based defence capabilities, surveillance and strategic communication.

• ₹2.19 lakh crore allocated for defence modernisation in 2026-27
The armed forces are being equipped for the warfare of today and tomorrow.

• ₹5,200 crore revenue earned by BrahMos Aerospace in FY26
India’s indigenous defence ecosystem is becoming stronger, sharper and globally relevant.

• Around ₹48,000 crore deal for 83 Tejas Mk1A fighter jets
Aatmanirbhar Bharat is no longer a slogan, it is powering India’s combat aviation capability.

This is the transformation of New India.

Old India reacted after damage.
New India prevents, prepares and punishes.

Old India imported security.
New India builds security.

Old India tolerated terror pressure.
New India gives a decisive response.
