@irmygod It’s because they became trendy. At one point it was labradors, one point it was GSD and doodles are just overpriced mutts. A lot of working breeds are mixed but it’s all part of better breeding programs for workability not for aesthetic stuff. Plus doodles aren’t hypoallergenic

@hhannah444 People were just terrible parents. Before modern nutrition they’d like dip bread chunks in water and feed it to babies instead of breastfeeding after a certain (too young) age to go back to work. It’s one of the reasons so many kids died before being toddlers. No one knew shit

@THE_KURZE The problem is poverty, a lot of the people poaching are just feeding families and the locals just honestly don’t care about the animals as much as westerners do. To them they’re pests in a lot of cases. So it’s good riddance when an elephant herd doesn’t tear up their shit now

@THE_KURZE Millions don’t pay for very much though. That’s the hard part it’s a lot easier for the game parks to keep poachers out of a small area but it’s extremely expensive to make a real impact over a large area. And most poachers are locals it’s like fighting in Vietnam, no real enemy

@THE_KURZE The problem is guys like this from any nation can be bought off and it’s extremely costly to send an American team or even an African team to track down poachers. It’s much easier to stop access to the animals than hunt down the offenders

@THE_KURZE They do. Locally born but military trained soldiers at game reserves. Malinois police dogs have been integrated in the last 5-10 years to protect nature preserves. The last white rhinos were under 24/7 armed guards, counter poaching measures look a lot like African military ops
