@drsuffy For starters - no free speech/functioning democracy, government opponents are killed, you conform to a state approved lifestyle/belief system or you’re at risk from the state. Run by a dictator. Corruption off the scale. Imperialistic invasion of other sovereign states….
This wildly misleading tweet, and the mostly hateful replies, is like entering an alternate version of reality.
If anybody is interested in the truth behind this claim, and what that Swedish poll actually asked, I'll go through it.
Probably banging my head against a wall. 😂
@deaflibertarian@IanCopeland5@joerogan I could believe that a doctor or a small number of doctors are corrupted in the way you suggest, but this is where most conspiracies fall right down - it requires all doctors, in all of modern history who conduct studies or review them, to be corrupt. Nonesense.
@damedevelo@terrychristian It’s a fair inference to draw from a statement about “affluent areas where parents are actively involved”. And I’m genuinely asking you, not telling you - if that’s not what you mean, what are you saying?
@damedevelo@terrychristian Are you implying that in non-affluent areas parents aren’t actively involved/dont care? Can you back that up with any evidence? It’s more likely wealthy people move to catchment areas with better schools and that drives up house prices. Unlikely to do with parental engagement
@damedevelo@terrychristian Oh I get you, I just agree with TC “working hard” is irrelevant to private schools, and you tried to use employment and benefit rates to counter. If someone can’t afford private school, like many who work hard can’t, the beef should be around whether state schools do a good job
@damedevelo@terrychristian The latter is odd as it appears a U.K. phenomenon. I’d suggest it indicates a health system crisis - whether physical or mental, but then we already know the NHS is in bad shape thanks to decades of underfunding/mismanagement. None of this is about a lack of work ethic though.
@damedevelo@terrychristian As for this- yes, but the recent increase in the economically inactive has, apparently been driven by 2 things - people retiring earlier and declining to go back to work, which is a luxury of the wealthy, and a sharp rise in people not working for health reasons post-pandemic.
@damedevelo@terrychristian You’re right, I withdraw my prior stat as I forgot that the stats differentiate between “unemployed” and “economically inactive”. Still large majority employed, challenging an argument that “most people” don’t work hard.
@damedevelo@terrychristian 95.7 of the country is employed (as of last update) - in what world does that lead you to believe that “most” people do not work hard?
@Microsoft some constructive feedback from a user going off using your websites extremely quickly - repeatedly asking me to complete 15 challenges (15!!!!) to prove I’m not a robot is going to prove I’m not a robot by making me absolute full of rage for you and your services
@NordVPN I’m struggling with your VPN - Instagram, Just Eat, Shell’s rewards app and at least one other app I use regularly don’t work at all with the VPN enabled. Is there a workaround? Weirdly, Instagram worked ok until a week or so ago, and suddenly stoppped
