Learners from various schools in Windhoek celebrated Halloween last Friday by wearing costumes to celebration events. Among them were two learners who wore Blackface with tags on their vests that read “Kaffer 1” and “Kaffer 2”.
One of the schools where the learners are enrolled told NBC News that the students attended the Halloween party after school hours, and the event was not organised by the school.
The German-language school said it has taken note of the incident and has launched an internal investigation. The school has also involved the Ministry of Education.
Blackface is a practice with a long history of reinforcing harmful stereotypes about Black people. Common stereotypes portrayed in Blackface include exaggerated facial features, laziness, buffoonery, ignorance, and subservience.
Halloween, celebrated on October 31st, originated from ancient Celtic festivals and was later influenced by Christian traditions. In many Western countries, especially the United States, Halloween is a major cultural event during which children and adults dress up and participate in community activities.

Nobody has it all figured out, trust me. You just need to live your life in a way that makes sense to you. Even if others don’t get it or understand it, that’s okay.
The Bank of Namibia has launched its upgraded banknote series along with a completely redesigned new Namibian coinage series, marking a historic milestone in the bank’s 35-year journey.
Issued under the theme “Our Currency, Our Heritage, Our Pride—Meet the Next Generation of the Namibia Dollar,” the new series celebrates both continuity and innovation in the evolution of Namibian currency.
According to BoN Governor Johannes !Gawaxab, this upgrade is more than just aesthetic: “It reinforces the security, functionality, and integrity of Namibian currency, ensuring it remains a trusted means of exchange while embodying the nation’s ambitions, values, resilience, and aspirations in a rapidly changing, technologically driven world.”
.
!Gawaxab added that currency must evolve with cutting-edge security features to stay ahead of counterfeiters and safeguard public trust.

🇳🇦Fishrot VS 🇳🇦Fuelrot.
Fishrot team has physicality and has some lethal attackers in Hatuikulipi and Shanghala, but defensively and in goal, Mulunga’s team is solid too. 🔥🔥
So... which team wins?
I really do believe you’ll only get clarity if you go no contact. I don’t believe in ending things with anyone and still having any type of access to each other, it’s just gonna cause more confusion.

Unemployed Teachers Protest for Fair Hiring in Katutura
Unemployed qualified teacher graduates gathered at the Teachers’ Resource Center in Katutura this morning, demanding an end to job interviews and the adoption of a fair, database-driven recruitment system.
“We are qualified, yet we sit at home while classrooms are overcrowded,” said one protester. The graduates spoke out against years of unemployment, financial strain, and wasted skills.
They urged the Ministry of Education to act swiftly. “We are ready to teach. All we want is a fair chance,” they declared.

You can’t build emotional safety with someone who perceives accountability as an attack. Esp if you’ve been stuck or obsessed with an avoidant. It gets dangerous: When someone treats you well on Mon & disappears on Thurs. Let’s talk about it..
