Kashmir based leadership under @OmarAbdullah is demanding the statehood for the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
How good is the demand when what is left is 19% area of the erstwhile state of J&K. And out of this, 70% lies in Jammu where we are demanding a separate political unit as #JammuPradesh.
See the difference between the two. The ones in Kashmir just want whatever is left to rule it without any consideration of the lost geography while we in Jammu are fighting to protect what has been ours for centuries.

JSPM Launches Campaign for Separate Jammu State @DailyExcelsior1

A new socio-political initiative, the Jammu State People Movement (JSPM), was formally launched in Jammu on June 15 by a group of prominent citizens, intellectuals, retired officials, social activists, and youth representatives from across the Jammu region. The announcement was made during a press conference led by Col Ajay Raina (Retd.), Chairman of JSPM, along with Prof. Virender Gupta and other core group members.
The movement advocates the creation of a separate Jammu State through constitutional and democratic means. #JSPM leaders argue that despite Jammu’s significant contribution to the economy, tourism, revenue generation, agriculture, hydropower potential, and national security, the region has not received its due share in governance, development, infrastructure growth, institutional expansion, and employment opportunities.
According to the organization, a separate Jammu State would enable focused governance, balanced regional development, better planning, and greater representation for the people of Jammu’s ten districts. The movement emphasizes preserving Jammu’s distinct geographical, historical, and cultural identity while ensuring inclusive development and equal opportunities for all communities.
Col Raina clarified that the demand is not directed against Kashmir or its people, and that the movement harbors no ill will toward any region or community. He stated that if special political attention and statehood can be considered for Kashmir, Jammu’s aspirations for self-governance and statehood also deserve recognition.
JSPM has appealed to the people of Jammu to support the movement peacefully and democratically, describing it as a campaign for dignity, self-governance, balanced regional development, and the protection of Jammu’s unique identity and interests.
