Was reminded of point (4) of this old post when I saw some objecting to women chanting Ganapathi Atharva Seersham.

Sadly, some people foolishly clinging to *modern* orthodoxy shaped by Islamic & Victorian influences see themselves as custodians of “tradition”, not realizing that they’re being regressive & actually deviating from the *original* tradition of rishis, which was quite “progressive” & enlightened! 😢🙏🕉️

Though some will now tell you women can't chant Veda, some portions of Veda (e.g. Devi Sooktam from RigVeda) were first revealed to female rishis who then taught them to the world! And, now we want to forbid all ladies from chanting it?

Sadly, some respected acharyas & peethadhipatis of this era may also hold these regressive views deviating from the enlightened spirit of rishis. However, if my expectation of a renaissance in Sanatana Aarsha Dharma in coming decades holds true, modern orthodoxy will be reformed to become more consistent with the original wisdom of rishis & people opposing it will simply become irrelevant & forgotten.. 🙏🕉️🙏
