🇧🇫🇷🇺BREAKING: Burkina Faso to sign nuclear power deal with Russia
Burkina Faso and Russia are on Friday due to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Burkina Faso.
The agreement will be a culmination of talks the Burkinabe military ruler, Capt Ibrahim Traore, had with Russian president Vladimir Putin in July during the Russia-Africa summit in Moscow.
"The MoU will be signed between Rosatom, the Russian federal atomic energy agency, and the Burkinabe ministry of energy, on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week 2023," the report further said.
Burkina Faso is one of the least electrified countries globally, with only about 20% of the population having access to electricity, according to the International Energy Atomic Agency.
Big News! 🚨
This book was the inspiration for starting @SolomonsCorner. I got permission from the publisher, CAU press to do a podcast in the same style as the Catechism in a Year podcast.
My plan is to have professors and religious as guests to talk about the book and how to live Intellectual life in the modern era. If you want to be considered for an interview or want to recommend someone, DM me.

“People were created to be loved. Things were created to be used. The reason why the world is in chaos, is because things are being loved and people are being used.”

Every autumn a huge golden cross appears in the forests of County Donegal, Ireland. 3000 Japanese larch trees were planted amongst pine trees in such a way that a cross pattern is created when the larch trees turn yellow.
"You're telling me we're sending $100 billion to a country that's not going to have elections"
“We’re sending $100 billion to a country that now has a president for life?”
"Does anyone remember the American Civil War? Where 600,000 people died and yet we didn't miss an election?"

What is the purpose of study?
How does modern man get this exactly backward?
Here is a short insight from one of the best books I’ve ever read.
⬇️⬇️⬇️
In his 1946 classic, The Intellectual Life, the French Dominican A.G. Sertillanges lays out the simple purpose of study:
“The order of the mind must correspond to the order of things.”
He is drawing from St. Thomas Aquinas, who teaches that truth is the conformity of the mind to reality.
This is the purpose of the liberal arts, of the great books, and of all study: the pursuit of truth.
We must labor to conform our minds to the contours of reality.
We aid one another in our pursuit of truth through our words, whether oral or written, for it is the purpose of our words to convey truth.
How rich we are then to have the writings of such masters as St. Augustine to help guide us in this vocation of the intellect.
As Sertillanges teaches, “books are signposts” on the movement of the mind toward truth.
We approach such authors as a student approaches a teacher—ready for a tutelage in what is real.
Whereas Catholics strive to conform their minds to reality, modern man strives to conform reality to his mind.
Ancient Man v/s Modern Man
G.K Chesterton:
"Man has always lost his way. He has been a tramp ever since Eden; but he always knew, or thought he knew, what he was looking for.
But in the bleak and blinding hail of skepticism to which he has been now so long subjected, he has begun for the first time to be chilled, not merely in his hopes, but in his desires.
For the first time in history he begins really to doubt the object of his wanderings on the earth. He has always lost his way; but now he has lost his address."
A number of years ago, the Orthodox theologian, Fr. Thomas Hopko, composed 55 maxims to guide Christians in their daily lives and struggles. Here are ten of my favorites.
1. Be always with Christ.
2. Have a short prayer that you constantly repeat when your mind is not occupied with other things.
3. Be an ordinary person.
4. Be simple, hidden, quiet and small.
5. Don’t compare yourself with anyone.
6. Don’t seek or expect praise or pity from anyone.
7. Be merciful with yourself and with others.
8. Have no expectations except to be fiercely tempted to your last breath.
9. Endure the trial of yourself and your own faults and sins peacefully, serenely, because you know that God’s mercy is greater than your brokenness.
10. Get help when you need it, without fear and without shame.
Nvidia ($960B) is now worth more than:
- Facebook ($665B)
- Tesla ($618B)
- Netflix ($168B)
This is a company that started 30 years ago at Denny's and was for decades only a video game chip maker.
Here's why Nvidia is surging:
Why would Starbucks, a company with unlimited marketing resources, promote a tone-deaf ad? The real issue here is the CEI score—a new credit score based on a company’s woke rating. https://t.co/PSsVlunhOS

“When pregnant, the cells of the baby migrate into the mothers bloodstream and then circle back into the baby, it’s called “fetal-maternal microchimerism”.
For 41 weeks, the cells circulate and merge backwards and forwards, and after the baby is born, many of these cells stay in the mother’s body, leaving a permanent imprint in the mothers tissues, bones, brain, and skin, and often stay there for decades. Every single child a mother has afterwards will leave a similar imprint on her body, too.
Even if a pregnancy doesn't go to full term or if you have an abortion, these cells still migrate into your bloodstream.
Research has shown that if a mother's heart is injured, fetal cells will rush to the site of the injury and change into different types of cells that specialize in mending the heart.
The baby helps repair the mother, while the mother builds the baby.
How cool is that?
This is often why certain illnesses vanish while pregnant.
It’s incredible how mothers bodies protect the baby at all costs, and the baby protects & rebuilds the mother back - so that the baby can develop safely and survive.
Think about crazy cravings for a moment. What was the mother deficient in that the baby made them crave?
Studies have also shown cells from a fetus in a mothers brain 18 years after she gave birth. How amazing is that?”
If you’re a mom you know how you can intuitively feel your child even when they are not there….Well, now there is scientific proof that moms carry them for years and years even after they have given birth to them.
I find this to be so very beautiful.
