Alabama teachers have faced unprecedented challenges this year, from ensuring classrooms are safe for in-person learning to adjusting to the new realities of online teaching. Say thank you by posting a story, photo or video of a teacher & use the hashtag #ThankALTeachers.
Due to the continued power outages and roads blocked by downed trees and power lines, Calhoun County Schools will be closed on Monday, November 2, 2020.
Take heart tonight, friend. We don’t have to have all the answers. We just have to stay connected to the One who does.
"When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn." (Psalm 142:3a)
We can't stop or control the future, but we can make moment by moment choices to let our souls rest in God and God alone.
He is sure. He is faithful. He is good.
Satan is a cruel manipulator. He desires for God’s girls to get ensnared and distracted by competing and comparing.
But our calling is never to "one up" the next girl. It is to raise up the name of Jesus and live His truths in an authentic way.
We can run our emotions ragged trying to make sense of things that aren’t ever going to make sense in our situation...or we can ask Jesus to show us how to move forward.
Make something beautiful. Make good from the hard stuff. Make a true investment in loving someone. Today❤️
SAY A QUICK PRAYER:
“God, as I go to sleep, I pray for everyone in need of love. I pray You give them the everlasting love that only You can give. Amen!”
Fear only has as much access to our hearts as we allow. And today's a good day to tell fear, “Stand down in the name of Jesus. You are messing with the wrong girl this time!”
We don't have to dance with the devil’s lies.
They say time heals—and I think this can be true—but only if healing is truly the goal.
Time grows the seeds that are planted, watered, and fertilized. Plant beauty, grow beauty. Plant thorns, grow thorns. Time will allow for either.
Let's ask the Lord to help us plant wisely.
When I am deeply hurt by something someone has done or said, I have to give myself permission to be honest about my feelings. But I don’t have to compound the hurt by reacting out of those feelings.
I don’t want today’s reaction to become tomorrow’s regret.
Calhoun County Schools' has adjusted its start date to August 11th, 2020 to allow for more time to train faculty and staff. Thank you for understanding!
Lord, You have no need to prove Your trustworthiness, and yet time and again we see You revealing how very faithful You are. We proclaim in this moment, You are faithful. You are worthy of our trust. And You are the One we're turning to with every hope, every fear, every need.
