Behind every orphan are the Keepers who have earned their trust. Here's Lemeki with Voi Head Keeper Joseph, in the kind of quiet, unhurried contact that comes after years of care.

Rescued as a week-old newborn in 2018, Lemeki was plucked from the floodwaters of the Mara River and raised by our Keepers. Now, as she journeys towards a life back in the wild, she has grown into the matriarch of our dependent Voi herd.
