TODAY IN HISTORY

1st September 1986: Living Faith World Outreach Center establishes the Word of Faith Bible Institute to train ministers from within and outside the Ministry as well as Christians from all walks of life. Today, after 40 years, WOFBI runs across 56 nations of the world and has trained well over 200,000 students including Pastor David Ibiyeomie, Founder and Senior Pastor, Salvation Ministries, Home of Salvation. Others include Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, Bishop Wisdom Irabor and many others.

1st September 1957: Billy Graham concludes his sixteen weeks New York City evangelistic crusade in New York City. More than 2.3 million people attended the meetings with more than 61,000 indicating a decision for Christ, and an estimated 96 million more had seen at least one of the meetings that were televised

1st September 1872: Florence Crawford is born. She is the Founder of the Apostolic Faith Mission (now Apostolic Faith Church) in Portland, Oregon. The Church started after her experience as secretary at the Azusa Street Revival. She left in protest (due to Seymour's marriage) and stole the mailing list of subscribers/members to the Apostolic Faith Mission Newspaper at Azusa. She moved to Portland and started mailing them from there and basically transferred membership to Apostolic Faith. Though this act facilitated the end of the Azusa revival, it led to the birth of a new global mission that has grown worldwide. Deeper Life Bible Church, one of the largest churches in Nigeria is an offshoot of the Apostolic Faith Church.

1st September 2013: Most Reverend, Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche, is elected the new Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria to take over from His Eminence Sunday Olatunji Amos Makinde.

1st September 2022: Pastor Isaac Oyedepo arrives Nigeria on redeployment after finishing his assignment in Winners Chapel Maryland, USA. It would be his last station on official assignment with the Commission as a pastor.

1st September 1973: The first issue of Believer’s Voice of Victory magazine by Kenneth Copeland Ministries is published as a four-page newsletter and distributed to about 3,000 people.
