Welcome to our first Conductor’s Corner where you get to learn more about the amazing conductors who help our choirs shine.

Today we're featuring PYC conductor and Artistic Director Shawn Funk.  Mr. Funk is from Clarion, PA, and he started singing around the age of 2 or 3.

[Pittsburgh Youth Chorus @PYChorus]

"Once one shares in the creation of art with others," Mr. Funk said, "They have a unique bond.  I have been blessed to share this bond with thousands of singers over the years."

[Pittsburgh Youth Chorus @PYChorus]

We're proud of all PYC singers and alumni for using their voices in such a powerful and meaningful way.

If you haven’t already, make sure to check out the performance here: https://t.co/f3SXYzViap

Recently, we had PYC singers and alums participate in the Let Freedom Sing Festival, created to honor the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The festival went virtual this year, and our PYC singers and alum sang in a performance of the song "Glory" for the festival.

In case you missed it the first time, you still have another chance to hear PYC on the radio! Make sure to mark your calendars to listen in and support the PYC singers tomorrow on WRCT! 🎶
