I believe the reason the administration wants to use ICE as security at the SuperBowl and the Olympics is because they think that will somehow rehabilitate their image. All so they can try and force the states to use ICE as election security, and we know why they would want that.
@electionsjoe In the older Marvel comics the villain team counterpart to the Avengers was the Masters of Evil. A bit on the nose, but accurate in this case.
@comradeseahawk@electionsjoe That was for the Justice League, but only in the cartoon. The Avengers villain group counterpart in the comics was traditionally the Masters of Evil.
@girldrawsghosts I want actual spy Bond, and not just brute force assassin Bond. Let's get some gadgets and tradecraft. A tinker, tailer, soldier, "I expect you to die" kind of Bond.
@KaoticLeftist No need to waste our time with this "which state goes first" bullshit. Just hit the ground running and make the candidates bust their asses to show us what they got.
@KaoticLeftist I still say have multiple states go first, in a Super Tuesday like event. Then you can tailer the demographics to be truly representative and weed out the candidates that can't compete in several states at once. Thus getting the candidate that is most ready for the general.
@eternallyRaq I hate Rahm with a passion, but I don't think that's really what he means. He's taking the "national security" claim at face value. The something "for free" is about Denmark having always been open to U.S./NATO troops and bases on Greenland. Basically, we don't need to own it.
This is kinda an old concept that predates the personal computer. They used to believe you would have these massive centralized community computers with networked home or business terminals. Then the tech advanced beyond it. Now they want go back because they want all your data.
Jeff Bezos claims that in the future, you will not buy a gaming PC.
You will only rent computing power in the cloud to play games online.
He called it inefficient and predicted it won't last, saying people will instead rent computing power from the cloud, much like buying electricity today.

@KaoticLeftist There should be a Super Tuesday like primary event first, with several states sharing first in the nation status. Spread the candidates thin, make them work for it over multiple states at once. Call it the gauntlet and let us see what they're really made of.
@KaoticLeftist As an Iowan, the first in the nation status and the caucus have been a political disaster for the state. The DNC meddles too much in the local party, and it takes the focus off building up candidates for state office. As a result, Iowa has shifted redward.
