correct.
If the NBA had to suspend the new face of the league for an NBA Finals game, I would at least have understood them willingly turning a blind eye.
But that wasn't the case.
They could have diciplined Wemby for an obvious Flagrant 1, without any impact on Game 4
All this talk on my TL of “retribution for brunson” sounds like a setup if you ask me. Knicks have to walk a delicate line here. They don’t officiate us the same.
Cancel the watch parties and let the garden be the watch party
And let the bars host Knicks fans
The other stuff is officially in the way of those completely normal and baseline experiences for sporting events
To be clear: I would like to trade
“Watch parties” for the freedom of not having mobility restrictions and insane police presence….
Come on man, this is the happiest times of our lives and we sacrificing it for the populous of guys who don’t know who Mohamed Diawara is
Knicks fans rioted in Midtown last night af the Game 3 loss.
Social media and streaming have warped our minds, and TikTok brain rot is at an all-time high.
New piece on Philip K. Dick, androids, and why it wasn't passion we saw last night, but content creation gone wild.

I will never understand ESPN's obsession with this guy. Nothing against him personally, I just don't get the hype.
So many good journalists fired to pay for McAfee & Stephen A's supermax deals. Smh.
The Knicks vs Spurs series has opened eyes.
If you are an advertiser making decisions about upfront investments with NBC, ABC/ESPN, and Amazon, you will have to ask questions about the value of associating your brand with NBA’s credibility issue and chosen face of the league.
If you think the calls the NBA is giving Wembanyama's Spurs are ridiculous just wait til you see the officiating gymnastics they perform when Cooper Flagg is a Celtic.
For the record, had the NBA (correctly) retroactively assessed Wemby a Flagrant 1 for the Brunson play, he wouldn’t have been suspended! There would’ve been no penalty! It simply would mean his margin of error on questionable BS would be gone for Games 4-6.
Totally reasonable!
The one missed Wemby shove is a myopic POV of the officials’ impact on last night’s game. In the building it was clearly a one-sided affair. Examples:
- 2 quick Mikal fouls disrupted Knicks rotations
- Wemby got shooting fouls at will while KAT can’t buy a call around the rim
i think it’s interesting that wembanyama is being granted this level of immunity and i think there’s a connection between his presence and international viewership that’s worth noting
