Today we had a really special visitor! As we were listening to a Native American lullaby, a giant hawk landed outside our window. He got closer as we listened. Students tiptoed to the window and see him up close. He helped us have excellent conversations about respecting nature

This weeks lessons follow a pumpkin theme. Here students practice “Pass The Pumpkin” showing off their new cross-hands pattern while playing an ostinato on mallet instruments! Scrapers, egg shakers, & drums (for dramatic effect!) complete our ensemble. @QueenCitySTEM

3rd grade students are creating ABA compositions using three line notation for sol, mi, and la and rhythm notation for class room percussion instruments
As we wrap up our unit on Rondos, students work together in a “station rotation” format to create group rondos that they will eventually perform for the class! @QueenCitySTEM
