My current favourite piece of chess advice/wisdom is :
"Everyone would benefit greatly from stopping before each move and asking :
Why this move? What am I trying to achieve, and how does this move help me achieve it?"
from How Life Imitates Chess by @Kasparov63#chesspunks
@PaulLeonardMorg It was the 'DeLorean : Back From the Future' Documentary for the BBC. I caught it recently, late night on BBC4, I think. I just caught the ending and really liked the music on the end credits, so I wanted to track it down. Shazam-ing didn't work, and I saw your name as composer.
@chesstutor Here’s a picture from the excellent book Marr’s Guitars with Bert Jansch and Johnny Marr playing acoustic guitars together. Chess set on the table. I wonder if they played chess together also 🤔 ?@Johnny_Marr
Hi #chesspunks. I've recently been playing through master games using the Solitaire Chess method as described by @natesolon and its been a game changer for me. Its really opened up an amazing chess resource (master games). Well worth a try. Thanks Nate. 👍

@ChessVonDoom@chesscom I am also working my way through the bots. It’s a good way to play longer games in preparation for tournaments. Coupled with a Chessnut Air it’s as close as I can get to OTB without leaving the house. 👍🏻
@eternalhopeoaks I use a small thermal printer and print positions from my mobile phone either via screenshot, or scan from books using Chessvision-ai. It works for me. Depends what size & quality you're after https://t.co/dxtNHj4fi1
To all the note-taking, flashcard-making #chesspunks, I bought a 'kids' bluetooth, thermal printer (£20) to easily print chess positions. Quality is ok for price. Ideal for eval./imbalance studies etc. Combine with https://t.co/7vlgJsAlLW and it's 30 secs from book to sticker.
@eternalhopeoaks What software do you have the positions in? chesscom has a share button on its analysis board which allows you to get a jpeg image of the position. I sometimes drop these into a Word doc to resize etc. and then print. Alternatively, screenshot it and crop etc. Hope this helps
@ChessVonDoom Hi Omar. What's your process for studying master games. I know they are such a rich resource to have at our fingertips, but I sometimes find myself just moving pieces about without getting to the learning. Any tips ?
@programarivm Hi. Is there any explanation of what the graphs represent or how to read them. They look interesting but I don’t know what they’re showing me.
@ShaunTheGood @chessdojo Thanks. Is it a struggle to get a game? I’m in the UK. One of the reasons for possibly joining was to get regular classical games.
