Morocco/Moroccan regime is Islamist regime & not any friend of Europe or West.. Apart from these laws it is not recognised for "Moroccan" to be Christians (Sure there are some Churches for foreigners).. Western politicians romanticising Morocco as moderate are delusional..

I fled a Muslim-majority country—Morocco—which is often labeled as “moderate.” Yet, local Moroccans cannot openly convert to another religion without facing serious consequences. Conversions happen in secret, meetings are held in secret, and those who embrace Christianity must hide their faith. Churches exist, but only for foreigners. Moroccan converts are not allowed Christian marriages, cannot give their children Christian names, and their children are forced to study Islam in schools. When they die, there are no Christian cemeteries for them. Their marriages are registered under Sharia law, and they are never officially recognized as Christians.

If this is what life looks like in a so-called moderate country, imagine the situation in less tolerant ones. I don’t want the West to become a place where Sharia law is applied. That would turn it into a mirror of the very countries many of us fled.

@MoroccoIntel If your definition of "Moroccan Christian" is someone believing privately or hiding without any recognition and in shadows then there would be namesake "Moroccan Christians" however the Moroccan state does not recognise any "Moroccan Christian"..

@MoroccoIntel Which Moroccan Christian? You cannot be recognised Christian Moroccan citizen.. ik laws of Morocco and have lived there.. "Moroccan Christian" likely would be someone hiding (private) his or her religion without any official recognition, the documents would show Muslim anyway..

@MoroccoIntel You just proved my point.. only Muslims and Jews are recognised as per Moroccan laws you cannot be Christian and get recognition.. Art 220 can be interpreted in anyway and it applies restrictions only to Non Muslims proselytizing..

@MoroccoIntel Proselytize is only legal for Muslims in Morocco.. the Civil & Family laws (Moudwana) which decide status only recognises Muslims & Jews.. If not prove me wrong and show single Moroccan Christian which is recognised in Morocco
