The Quantitative MuculoSKeletal Imaging Workshop is a biannual meeting of scientists working at the forefront of medical imaging and musculoskeletal science
We are excited to announce the 24th International Workshop on Quantitative Musculoskeletal Imaging (QMSKI) in the beautiful Barossa Valley, South Australia from November 3-8, 2024 #QMSKI2024@aburghardt@zuribruce
Details here: https://t.co/Hqlz7yQBTk
- 2D vs. 3D registration
- Mesh-morphing techniques for accurate localization of morphological changes
- Quantification of periosteal/endosteal change
- Time-Lapse Analysis and Virtual Bone Biopsy
- Application to various cases and cohorts
Longitudinal studies, particularly in clinical trials and aging, as well as during growth, provide the opportunity to investigate dynamic physiologic processes at the micro-scale and their relation to biomechanical function and fragility.
- Interpretation of topological/connectivity changes
- Cross-sectional trajectories versus longitudinal change
- Use of normative data in longitudinal analyses
- Longitudinal FEA and boundary conditions
- Longitudinal studies with both 1st and 2nd generation HR-pQCT
High-Resolution peripheral Quantitative Computed Tomography (HR-pQCT) has become an essential imaging modality for non-invasive musculoskeletal assessment in humans, offering high-resolution 3D imaging of cortical and trabecular bone.
Bone microstructure is complex, undergoing dynamic changes with aging, menopause, and bone-related diseases, and varying significantly across different points and sections of the bone. This complexity necessitates thorough consideration in studying change in bone microstructure.
Organizers:
Ali Ghasem-Zadeh, University of Melbourne
Steven Boyd, University of Calgary
Bert van Rietbergen, Eindhoven University of Technology
Galateia Kazakia, University of California, San Francisco
Andrew Burghardt, University of California, San Francisco
Our 2nd evening workshop at #QMSKI2024 is focused on the challenges and opportunities of measuring change in the 3D microstructure of bone from serial HR-pQCT images. Come discuss with some great speakers, @zadeh_ghasem@BvanRietbergen@galateia_k@aburghardt and Steve Boyd
Evening workshops @ #QMSKI2024 are an exciting opportunity for investigators at all stages to get involved in the discussion of emerging topics. Leading off Monday evening 11/4 is CT Muscle Imaging lead by Fjola Johannesdottir, Klaus Engelke, Leon Lenchik, & Ling Wang.
In less than a month, we welcome @karl_j_lewis from Cornell University as a #QMSKI2024 invited speaker. Dr Lewis is a leading researcher in cutting-edge intravital imaging techniques for investigating bone growth, development, and disease. @zuribruce@aburghardt
The detailed programme for #QMSKI2024 is now live. See the exciting science coming to Barossa Valley in November! @zuribruce@aburghardt
