Now Adam has fully left the Token Works ecosystem and renounced most contracts including ethereum:0x3ca20831ebea5c99aa6e574d83f0a7c733f7e4d0 I wanted to give an update on what it means for the future of our token ecosystem

Firstly $CHMPSTR was not affected by yesterday’s $APESTR exploit

The exploit involved a vulnerability in older Strategy contracts, and $CHMPSTR launched later, using an improved patched version

Now $CHMPSTR is renounced nobody can upgrade the contract, although certain admin controls are still controllable by us

Earlier this year, we worked with TokenWorks to upgrade $CHMPSTR

We reshuffled around 400 protocol owned chimps across a wider range of listing prices, introduced adjustable randomised relisting multipliers and removed token transfer restrictions

We also retained admin controls that let us:

- Adjust the minimum and maximum relisting multipliers and the spacing between listing prices
- Update marketplace listing infrastructure as standards change
- Turn transfer restrictions on or off. Transfer restrictions was disabled as part of the upgrade
- Manage approved distributors if restrictions are ever re-enabled

That flexibility was built in to reduce the need for future contract upgrades

The core mechanics continue

Protocol fees buy Chimpers, those Chimpers are relisted, and sales fund $CHMPSTR buybacks and burns

We’re not reliant on TokenWorks or anyone else to build a future for $CHMPSTR

It’s our job to bring awareness, utility and value to the token

We’ve already been doing that by integrating it into products, games and experiences, and we’ll continue to do so

We chose to adopt $CHMPSTR as our ecosystem token, and have been one of the very few teams to do anything with their strategy token

In fact we’ve done more than most NFT IPs with a token inside our outside the TW ecosystem, and we’ve not even scratched the surface of realising its full potential

As with everything we do we build from the ground up, that’s why the dojo is so strong
