Fun Day 2024 in the books! Such a beautiful day & got to spend it with the 7th grade class. Kona Ice (thanks PTO), water balloons, & winning tug of war, just to name a few highlights! Everyone had a great day!

Today was the DC Applebees Flapjack Fundraiser! Thank you to everyone who bought tickets, donated, bought an ad, volunteered and/or came out & enjoyed a meal served by the kids (who did a great job!). The DC trip will be here before we know it! Thanks again!
@dealschool
Thank you to everyone that came out to the Annual Dodgeball Tournament, your support is greatly appreciated+ Congratulations to 8th gr team, "Lucas" (6/7/8 grade winner) & 3rd gr team, "No Girls Allowed" (3/4/5 winner) Great games played by all the entire night!

6th grade using task cards to practice finding absolute value. Love a simple activity that involves some movement, & so do the kids! #mathisfun@dealschool
@Candice0176 Looks like fun! Adding to my Amazon classroom wishlist right now so I will remember to get it at the end of the year!! Thanks! Showing 6th gr a new game after their test tomorrow, ask London tomorrow how she likes it. It's like a fast paced Uno!
Calling all middle schoolers 📢 Don't forget to buy your Snow Ball ticket tomorrow! Dance is Weds from 6 to 8. Tickets are $5. There will be snacks, photo booth & DJ (by popular demand, the same one from last year will be returning!). Can't wait to see you all there! @dealschool
@swise_bc@dealschool Bc I want to emphasize same units for scale factor (part they always seem to mess up), I made them measure in inches first then cm for final to make a little more difficult. So finding the final scale factor bc of converting was the trickiest. Easy activity overall!
7th grade made Shrinky Dinks to practice finding scale factor. First time I have ever made one actually! 😱 The kids loved it, and they turned out so great (after some trial and error). Such an awesome hands-on lesson! Definitely doing it again next year!

@swise_bc@dealschool Most had never made one before so they were excited. They realized after that if they added writing it should be reverse so the shiny part has the writing when done. When they got them back, they had to find the scale factor and answer a few questions...
Today 7th gr reviewed for their test with an escape room & boy was the excitement real! Students completed different types of problems & once all codes were complete, they could pick a key and "escape" the room by unlocking their lock & getting a prize! So much fun! @dealschool
Today I was named Teacher of the Year. I am overwhelmed w. gratitude. Between listening to what admin had to say about me & reading the letter that nominated me, I am full of such joyful emotions. It feels so wonderful to teach at a school & with people that I love! @dealschool
1st grade enjoying their ice cream party last Friday. They were the class with the most about of items donated to the food drive. Great job!
@dealschool
