This Day in NB History:
35 years ago on August 13, 1983, the Black-capped Chickadee (parus atricapillus) was proclaimed the provincial bird for New Brunswick by an Order-in-Council. It was chosen following a contest conducted by the provincial Federation of Naturalists.
