Regarding age invariance, the configural, metric and scalar invariance models fit the data well.
item intercepts are also invariant across age groups.
Finally, mean scores for each subscale were compared between adolescents and adults. And no differences were found.

RESULTS: DWLS was used (ordinal data). Invariance was examined using the nested configural, metric, and scalar models. Both the original and the 4 first-order factor model were found to have adequate fit.

Generalized Problematic Internet Use-2 (Caplan, 2010). Is specifically designed to assess the cognitive and behavioral aspects of PIU and its associated consequences. It has been adapted to several cultures, and its internal structure has been debated.

Prevalence of PIU is still unclear, bc there’s no consensus on the diagnostic criteria + is a relatively recent problem ➡️few epidemiological studies have been carried out to date. However PIU is emerging as a major issue in many developed countries. BUT how to measure it?
