MEET REBA – PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP ON HER……

Reba is a 7-year-old Belgian Malinois. Highly intelligent, eager to please and absolutely desperate to have a human of her own.

She was found abandoned by her most recent owner.

DOTS isn't a rescue, but sometimes dogs come through our gates who have nowhere else to go and could have otherwise faced being put to sleep.

At DOTS, we want to give them every chance we can to live.
Reba deserves that chance.

Let's be upfront: Reba has issues. She needs someone who understands and has experience with Belgian Malinois. She can be reactive to some dogs, although not others, and she needs space, stimulation, structure and someone prepared to work with that extraordinary Malinois brain.
And believe us, Reba has a LOT of brain.
She even decided an ordinary water bowl was far too boring and repeatedly emptied it and threw it around her kennel.
So we made her one out of concrete.

Reba 0. DOTS 1.
For now.

But underneath all that Malinois energy is a dog who craves human connection. She is incredibly eager to please, desperate for interaction and happiest when she feels she has a job to do.

We've tried to secure Reba a place with specialist Malinois rescue, without success.
At 7 years old, some may think we should simply give up.
We don't.

There must be someone out there who looks at Reba and sees what we see: an intelligent, loving dog who hasn't had the easiest journey but still desperately wants to connect with a person.

Ideally, we're looking for an experienced Malinois home with plenty of secure space or land, where Reba can exercise, use her brain and finally have the purpose and human companionship she craves.
She doesn't need someone to feel sorry for her.
She needs someone to understand her.
