Alright, lets see if I can get a master post working. I have a pretty large variety of ideas, there's probably something in there you'll like.

She really doesn't do it on purpose, how can you not believe her? A masochistic bratty maid can be a little clumsy too🖤

@basedbinkie I feel needing an irredeemable evil to calibrate your characters feels like it's own set of issues

[Juno @QueenJunoKing]

@SpartanX92 @basedbinkie Like, there are benefits for a setting to tilt towards realism but I see people in these comments talking like dnd and series like GoT which dress up with an aesthetic but aren't themselves within a historical basis and have no reason to tie their societal values to them.

[Juno @QueenJunoKing]

@SpartanX92 @basedbinkie I think it largely comes down to "the characters are doing xyz, and it doesn't fully conform to the times" becomes a questionable criticism if you're not fully writing historical facts especially if you're taking liberties and it's not a de facto fully historical setting.

[Juno @QueenJunoKing]

@SpartanX92 @basedbinkie In a way it kinda rubs me like people who say "oh well old people are racist because thats how it was" but there's always been people fighting against those kinds of systems. Unless you're just writing pure history you're just doing your best at historical dress up. 3/3

[Juno @QueenJunoKing]

@SpartanX92 @basedbinkie If the issue is "they didn't do democracy" then any other strafes from the historic truth are equally as invalid and should be criticized, including upholding the system at the time even if it's an anesthetic you enjoy. 2/

[Juno @QueenJunoKing]

@basedbinkie Unless you're doing something like... have a character that isn't the exact same as other characters. That's typically how main characters work. It's also how most remembered historical figures are. The rank and file are rarely remembered.

[Juno @QueenJunoKing]

@basedbinkie A lot of peasants doing peasant things. Depending on the era you're going to have a lot of shitty knights following a corrupt church into one of many holy wars. Because following other paths deviates from the expectations and mindsets of the era.

[Juno @QueenJunoKing]

@basedbinkie I'm aware your comic isn't in the real world middle ages, but is it not heavily inspired by the middle ages but includes a lot of modern mindsets? Such as the genderswaped Don Quioxote knight and her crossdressing brother?
