Our Quiz night this December falls on New Years Eve, starting a little later at 9pm, it will be finished in time to dance around the Tree at midnight to see in the New year, before returning to the pub to dance till the wee hours. Book a table to get the hot half time snacks.

It's Pie night at the Queens Head, Wednesdays between 5 and 8pm, all our Pie dinners are £10, that's for the pie, chips or mash, peas and a side of gravy. This week we have new batches of Steak Pie, Venison Pie, Chicken, Leak and Ham Pie & Cheese, Potato and Onion Pies.

Specials for this weekend, including our Fish special of Baked Cod Loin, either rarebit crusted, or Lemon and caper baked, on Cyprus potage, spinach, tender stem broccoli and a roasted plum tomato. We also have a homemade lasagne, accompanied by salad and garlic ciabatta.

Less than a month until our annual Ale festival starts, 20 Ales and ciders from £3.50 per pint, local and National favourites sourced, can announce the first two Ales: Pale Ale Mary from Northdown Brewery Margate, and Theakstons Peculiar IPA from Masham, Yorkshire.

A Mediterranean feel to our fresh fish Specials, With Hake, Cod & Skate direct from the fishing fleet at Shoerham. We have added olives, sun-dried tomatoes & herbs to the cod to create an Italian version of baked cod, a Spanish recipe, to create smokey Hake, Beans & Greens dish

The Next quiz night is moving from the last Thursday, to the last Wednesday (due to cricket), it will be at 8pm on Wednesday 30th July, following the £10 pie night, same rules, £2 entry per person, max 6 in a team, price includes quiz, half time snacks and play your cards right.

Next week we have the Ravensbourne Morris Men visiting Downe Village. please pop up to the Lime Tree in the village centre for 9pm to see them dance . Post dancing you can join them in the Queens Head for some fabulous real ales, with some traditional folk music and singing.
