I respect Messi’s greatness, but I’m fully convinced he’s going goal‑less this World Cup and Argentina are getting grouped. He holds them back.

This guy is still standing by his comment, saying that the BCCI will never invest in football because they fear that if football grows, it will finish cricket in India 😭😭
Before starting the debate of WHY INDIA IS NOT IN THE FIFA WORLD CUP.
Start discussing on why India has not qualified for the AFC Asian Cup 2027.
Why did India fail to qualify to a 24 team Asian event?
Why did in the 19 tournaments of Asian Cup India qualified only 5 times?
Before qualifying for the FIFA World Cup, let India first qualify for the THIRD ROUND of Qualifications.
The FIFA World Cup is here.
48 nations contesting for glory.
Yet India - home to 1.4 billion people and millions of football fans - has never qualified.
What explains this gap? And how do we fix it?
🔒 Tune into Let's Talk About Indian Football: https://t.co/Ico7GWAE3J
1. Sports - Cricket, Football, Footie, Rugby, Hockey, Tennis, Olympics all and beyond is in the culture of Australia that's why they excel.
2. "Once China was at our level in the Olympics"- SERIOUSLY???
China started participating in 1984 won 32 medals and ranked 4th on debut.
How a country like Australia whose population is less than of Delhi is able to compete at highest level of Cricket, Football, Olympics sports simultaneously & making it big too?
Why India can't do that? Once China was at our level in Olympic & now they are competing with USA in medal tally, why we can't see such revolution? Sunil Chetri rightfully blamed the system, yes we need to improve a lot infrastructure as well as scouting wise.
Because in India the British came up with the Sarais Act 1867 allowing people to use restrooms of Hotel and Lodges without being a customer. That followed by state, Municipality and Hotel association guidelines.
Things that we take for granted in India!
I was in London last week, in a decent touristy area.
I wanted to use the washroom & when I couldn't find a public one, I went to a few restaurants.
To my surprise, almost all had signs that only their customers can use the loo.
Finally, one allowed me after getting me to give them a 5 star review on Google! Lol!
On the other hand, here in Bangalore I can walk into any restaurant or cafe, use their washroom, get a glass of free drinking water and not be their customer!
Here is a photo that I took at one such London restaurant.
India could have scored 190. Wrong shot selection caused the derailment.
Again Thanks to Richa we have a fighting total.
Now over to the bowlers.

Let's break this myth.
India didn't qualify for the 1950 FIFA World Cup.
All Asian teams withdrew from the game so FIFA invited India by default.
Like the 1964 AFC Asian Cup when everyone withdrew because of Israel, India became runners-up in a 4 team event.
‼️ HISTORIC ‼️
Morocco 🇲🇦 became the first national team ever to field a starting XI made up entirely of players born outside the country. 🤯
🇨🇦 Bono 🇳🇱 Noussair Mazraoui 🇫🇷 Issa Diop 🇪🇸 Chadi Riad 🇪🇸 Achraf Hakimi 🇫🇷 Neil El Aynaoui 🇫🇷 Ayyoub Bouaddi 🇧🇪 Chemsdine Talbi 🇧🇪 Bilal El Khannouss 🇫🇷 Samir El Mourabet 🇪🇸 Ismael Saibari

Long Tweet on FIFA World Cup and India from a Non Football Fan.
Seeing too many tweets these days from Pro, Seasonal and Occasional football fans regarding FIFA World Cup and the sadness of India not qualifying ever for the event. All of them are blaming poor infrastructure, lack of scouting, politics, corruption etc etc.
Here is a question -
China a country invested heavily on football, world class stadium and infrastructure, world class football league with current international stars, hired World Cup winning Coach, President declared Football as National Priority way back in 2015 and many more....
Still apart from 2002 (as host Japan and Korea qualified directly leaving Asian qualification easy) China has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup.
If only better infrastructure, investment in sports, etc makes you a good team then China would have qualified for all FIFA World Cup and Saudi Arabia would have become World Champion.
Some countries are not meant for some sports. So..... chill.
Here is another point -
Football is not an Asian sport.
1966- North Korea qualified for the Quarter Finals.
2002 - South Korea reached the Semi Final courtesy too much controversy.
Apart from these 2 events no Asian Country or Nation from AFC reached Quarter Finals.
(*Not counting Indonesia played as Dutch East India in the Quarter Finals of 1938 because the tournament was in the knockout format starting from Quarter Finals.(
Forget Quarter Finals how many even go to the Second Round? The round of 16?
South Korea 4 times out of 12 appearances.
Japan 4 out of 8 appearances.
Australia 2 out of 7 appearances.
Saudi Arabia 1 in 7 and North Korea 1 in 2 appearances (no round of 16 in 1966)
So Asian teams are not meant for football the DNA that is required.
I don't understand why people make such a huge issue about India not playing the FIFA World Cup. Football is not so popular in India except for a few states and a couple of Pubs.
No Indian players in F1, Tennis, NBA, NFL. India doesn't play Rugby.
No big deal.
Morning thought: Every time I watch a World Cup football match, I ask myself: will I live to see the day when India is part of the spectacle, not just a spectator? Seventy-nine years after Independence, we are yet to play in a single World Cup in the ultimate global team sport (we almost did once in 1950). A billion dreams. One unanswered sporting question. (Not to forget a football association in this country that is trapped in politics and a fandom that is obsessed with just one sport). 🙏
