Add on to this that crafting has no narrative relevance and is basically never discussed makes it feel like I'm interacting with some cheat menu rather than something tangible that exists in the world
I feel like while the crafting system in Star Ocean 2 is expansive and deep it also lacks charm. It's the most interacting with a computer program progression system I've ever seen.
Those many systems do evoke memories of Octopath Traveller, a game I really did like so maybe I'm just not ready to sink my teeth in to something with such a heavy RPG focus. The fact the combat plays out in real time did trick me into thinking that it contained yknow, action
I've been going through the Star Ocean 2 Remake and I'm not sure if it's having played 4 tales games back to back prior to this and a sense of burnout is setting in but I am definitely feeling bored
It's a lot more RPG than it is an action-game, you spend way more time in it's menus messing around with it's dozens upon dozens of overwhelming systems but when you actually get into combat, just about everything dies before you can even finish casting a spell
I think this remake is largely unessessary as nothing about Golden ought to be changed. I will say though that following their logic only really Kanji would need to be added as a romance and I don't see how that's this herculean level of effort that they describe it to be
Persona 4 Revival will have NO Yosuke romance.
Producer Kazuhisa Wada in an interview with GamesRadar:
"We were thinking if we did Yosuke, we kinda have to add all the other male characters as well. And if we did that, like that's a lot of work. I don't know if we could handle that."
@GenericSeal50@sparite Love how persona 5 always has to beat you over the head so bad with every plot point that your head is just paste by the end of it
