Vic.

And 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 is his passion.

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

There are a couple of thousand people.. killing themselves with every breath they take——and they 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 even know it. It's 𝙢𝙮 job to 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

Seems not a whole lot has changed around here.

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

That’s a good way to convince herself she’s doing this to help him, no other reason. He gets it, the solo act is draining. There’s a smile beneath his faceless feature.

“Down the block. Come on, I’ll lead the way.”

[HELENA. @BLOODANDOATHS]

She’s full of those, he knows that.

Helena is quiet for a moment, but she knows when she speaks next it’s going to be her inviting herself along on this. As much as she’d like to keep doing the solo routine, Vic is a trouble magnet. He’ll need the help. That’s what she tells >

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

Good question.

“Had to wait, they got very cagey when I escaped. Better to let them think I wasn’t going to come back around—And now here I am; coming back around.”

[HELENA. @BLOODANDOATHS]

Now he’s thinking about her potential tan lines?

Har har.

“I figured you would’ve solved that by now.”

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

Meditating. ‘Going inside’ as he likes to say. Always some answer you can find in your own head, if you look around.

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

No, she can just feel it through out the entire trip like he does. She’ll get a killer tan though.

Always more questions to be answered.

“Who do you think? Gang who held me hostage.”

[HELENA. @BLOODANDOATHS]

And her extreme moral compass is just supposed to let her jet off for a trip? Get real.

She never gets the full answer from him. There’s something there about the golden rule.

“Yeah? Who for?”

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

Everyone in Gotham has an extreme moral compass, he’s sure it’ll work out.

“Sure.” There’s more to it, there always is with her. You never get the full answer from her first time round. He’ll come back to it.

“Names, payments, shipments. Juicy details.”

[HELENA. @BLOODANDOATHS]

See the earlier point of having pissed everyone off. Plus, a vacation isn’t really warranted.

“Just checking to see if it was you.”

She says with a single shouldered shrug before she slips back out onto the fire escape.

“What’s in the book?”

She asks with her back to >

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

She acts like there’s no one she could ask for help. Though, he’s aware the mere mention of that is off limits.

He walks towards the window, staring at her. She can’t see it, but he’s squinting at her. “So. Why are you really here? Watching me rifle through someone’s apartment.”

[HELENA. @BLOODANDOATHS]

And what good does that do for the people she looks out for?

Helena watches him look through the book and then moves back towards the window. This was…stupid. Getting wrapped up in Vic will just be a waste of her time, a distraction. Her lips part to say something, but >

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

Humming to himself.

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

She could disappear too, for a time. Might do her some good, actually.

He opens it for a moment, a little nod as he reads over some of its contents. He opens his jacket slightly to slip it into a pocket on the inside.

“Good, not much has changed then.”

[HELENA. @BLOODANDOATHS]

She lets out a scoff at his answer. There it is. Always easy for him to disappear.

Her lips purse at the book he finds, but she doesn’t ask about it. Whatever Vic’s involved in, it’s not her place.

“Yeah, try everyone.”

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

“No. I went on a trip after it—vietnam. Old business, doesn’t really matter. Ah-Hah!”

Finding a secret compartment within the bottom of the couch, pulling out what appears to be some sort journaling book.

“How about you? Piss anyone off recently?”

[HELENA. @BLOODANDOATHS]

“All this time?”

She presses as she slips further inside the residence. It’s not unlike Vic to get himself into trouble. Certainly wasn’t unlike him to disappear the way he did either.

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

“You know. Here and there.” Reaching a hand under the couch, quietly humming to himself. “Held hostage by a new gang in town. Didn’t like my snooping.”

[HELENA. @BLOODANDOATHS]

“Where’ve you been?”

She asks, cutting to the chase. Seated in the open window as she watches him rummage.

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

“Quite the sight, I know.” He says while he opens various drawers, clicking his tongue as he closes them. Not what he’s after.

[HELENA. @BLOODANDOATHS]

For now. Saw the fedora, couldn’t resist.

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

You’ll live. You come to watch me?

[HELENA. @BLOODANDOATHS]

I’m not that patient.

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

Sounds fun, but it’ll have to wait.

[HELENA. @BLOODANDOATHS]

Criminal behavior. I’ll have to take you in.

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

Can’t answer many questions without a bit of snooping. Some call it breaking and entering.

[HELENA. @BLOODANDOATHS]

Funny way to say snooping.

[Vic. @QUERYTOLD]

A busy man with answers to find.
