Eight weeks ago, I started doing something I never expected to be doing.

Writing.

Each Sunday, I sit down with whatever has been on my mind, whatever I’ve noticed, whatever I’ve questioned, and I try to put it into words.

I never really know where these reflections are going to take me when I begin.

ESSAY-0007 — LIVED IT

A couple months ago, a friend asked me a simple question:

“Are you a writer?”

I said no.

This week, I became the creator of LIVED IT.

Somewhere between those two moments were six essays, a lot of work, three friends, a launch, my family, and a road I believe Father was laying before I understood where it led.

For those who have known me here as Quiet Return, this is also a reveal.

I built LIVED IT.

And I've come to realize that becoming a writer and becoming its creator were never two different stories.

They were the same one.

I didn’t hear this story.
I didn’t read it somewhere.
I didn’t imagine it.

I LIVED IT.

A bumblebee in my greenhouse.
Still. Wings not moving.

I offered my finger, and she crawled onto my hand.

For nearly an hour, she wandered across my palm while I gave her sugar water. I truly thought I was just keeping her comfortable at the end.

Then, without warning—

she took off like a rocket.

That moment stayed with me.

And moments like this are part of what eventually became LIVED IT — a creation built around something incredibly simple:

Real experiences. Real stories. Things we actually lived.

This is one of mine.

My experience.
My story.

Some encounters stay with you.

A pigeon that wouldn’t leave. Wild birds standing freely on an open hand. Three baby squirrels. A hedgehog left behind. A struggling bee. A couple of little bats.

Some stories ended with life flying away. Others ended with loss.

And somewhere along the way, I stopped seeing these encounters as coincidence.
