@OliverJia1014 As a teenager, I tried doing just that! I got to the second or third Brian Daley Han Solo book before I realized I had bitten off way more than I could chew.
@BilgeEbiri I did read, but I'm still fuzzy on the differences. Are the only changes the extended anime sequence and the Bill voiceover scene from the end of Vol. 1 being deleted? Is there anything else I'm missing?
@AmerikanerMan Old Kingdom Egyptians weren't 'black' or 'white' or 'Arab' or any other modern racial distinction. They were an ethnically heterogeneous society where complexion varied. Also, if something (ie Elon) is from the continent of Africa, it's African. Has nothing to do with blackness.
@AmerikanerMan Musk is a white Afrikaner born in Pretoria, so yes he is African. White people being South Africans has nothing to do with anachronistically superimposing modern conceptions of race onto Old Kingdom Egypt.
@esjesjesj Don't you understand? Middle Eastern people are backwards brown savages unless we're trying to make some idiotic right wing point about Africa being worse in which case Middle Eastern people are honorary whites. Also no Egypt doesn't count as African because uhhh reasons.
The difference is, "white genocide" is schizophrenic racist paranoia, and the Gaza genocide is verifiable fact, has been livestreamed for over 2 years, and is recognized as genocide by the UN, Int. Assn. of Genocide Scholars, Doctors Without Borders, Amnesty International etc
“If you actually look at the two of them, the tropes are kind of the same, right? The right is saying that Jews are doing a white genocide, and the left is saying they’re doing a genocide in Gaza, it’s like the same, it’s like very similar tropes.”
— Sarah Hurwitz, former speechwriter for President Obama and Michelle Obama, is back. This time, dismissing the UN Commission of Inquiry, Human Rights Watch, and Amnesty International’s verified genocide findings in Gaza as similar to the imaginary “white genocide” taking place in the United States.
CNN: Mamdani, are you going to vote for him?
CHUCK SCHUMER: We're continuing to talk.
CNN: The vote is on Tuesday; what are you gonna do?
CHUCK SCHUMER: [walks away]
Dumbest person you know can't figure out why someone would call their elder lady family member "auntie" rather than "my second cousin once removed on my father's side"
