"I know leaders when I see them. I also know idiots when I see them. You can imagine the combination of both of them, the disaster it is."
President Kagame
โI want to thank the private sector, they are actually to some level, hustlers, they are able to go through some of the barriers that are created by the public sector.โ
President Kagame
โThe memorial before us is powerful, because it sets the truth in stone and protects it from the heartlessness of time, by instructing the living. It is not a validation, because none is needed. But it will stand as a mark of respect for the dignity of Rwandans and our history.โ President Kagame | Inauguration of Monument in Paris honouring the victims of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi.
Rwandans today are better and stronger than we have ever been. We keep marching forward like the men and women of our defence and security forces who have just paraded before us.
Three decades ago, this building was the site of refuge and rescue from the surrounding neighbourhoods. Rwandans flowed here for safety, and many were saved thanks to the Rwandan Patriotic Army, an act that was repeated countless times all across our country.
On July 4th, we express our thanks to those who liberated Rwanda and remember those who gave their lives.
โWe do not measure leadership by words or promises. We measure it by results. What has changed in peopleโs lives? What progress has been made? Leadership must be practical, measurable, and focused on delivering real outcomes.โ
President Kagame
โOur countryโs progress depends on a knowledgeable and skilled population. The future belongs to those who work hard and never stop learning.โ

"Why would a threat be against me and you are asking me to remove my defensive measures but you are not dealing with a threat? what is the logic?"
President Kagame
โFor Rwanda, leadership must always be anchored in unity. We have seen what division can do to a nation. That is why every leader must put the country first, above personal interests, above politics, above anything else. When leaders are united around a common purpose, the country moves forward.โ
President Kagame
โI commend all police officers, past and present, whose courage and dedication have enabled Rwandans to live and work in safety and dignity.
Beyond our borders, these qualities continue to distinguish you in international peace support operations.
The achievements made so far, are a result of strong cooperation with partners, fellow security organs, and above all, the unwavering support of Rwandans.
This spirit of collaboration is a strength that must be continually nurtured, and bolstered.โ President Kagame | 25th Anniversary of Rwanda National Police and Officer Cadets Commissioning Ceremony
โYou cannot ask people to do what you are not willing to do yourself. Leadership must be demonstrated through actions. Discipline, integrity, and hard work must start from the top, because people follow what they see, not what they are told.โ
President Kagame
โWe are going to be good partners. I promise you, you will not at any point feel you made a wrong move.โ
President Kagame addressed investors who have put their trust in Rwandaโs sports industry.
โOur visit here is an opportunity to deepen the friendship between Rwanda and Congo and strengthen cooperation for the benefit of the citizens of our two countries.โ
President Kagame
President Kagame:
โRwanda is strong and strong enough in our own circumstances, precisely because we consider ourselves vulnerable to ideologies of violence,ย of violent ethnic extremism, particularly when they benefit from direct or indirect state support.ย
We have made a promise to ourselves to never go back to the dark days, that darkness. We can't go back, and that is not something we will waver from.โ
