Lucy, formerly the Queen of Stinky Poops until I passed the crown to my baby sister, Grace. Currently, I’m the Dowager Countess of Toots. My Dad is hilariest
[Lucy sitting on our bed]
Dad: “Can you move, Lucy? I don’t want you tooting on my pillow.”
Lucy: *giggling* “Good suggestion!” *laughs so hard she toots*
Dad: “Gracie, you look tired. Lucy, what time did Grace wake up from her nap today?”
Lucy: “Um, I think around 3:30.”
Dad: “Oh, really? She slept that long?”
Lucy: “Well... I don’t really know how to tell time so I don’t know.”
Lucy: “The ugly stepsisters are not very nice to Cinderella. Why?”
Dad: “Well, I don’t think they like Cinderella”
Lucy: “Is that why they make bad choices? Because the bad things seem right to them?”
**Watching Harry Potter for the first time**
Lucy: “You know what, Mom? Even though Professor Snape isn’t very nice, I still like him”
Dad: “You are your mother’s daughter”

I watched my daughters for most of the day yesterday: I went to the zoo, had PBJ for lunch, took a nap, played Legos, and read Harry Potter.
In other words, the “living vicariously through my children” stage of life is awesome
Mom: “Lucy, don’t these flowers smell beautiful?”
Lucy, being a bit of a turd: “No, I do not smell them, and even if I did, they would not smell beautiful”
Dad: “Lucy, if you held your toots, do you think you’d explode?”
Lucy: *rolls on the ground laughing hysterically, then suddenly jumps up and looks worried*
“Wait! Are you kidding!?!?”
L: “Daddy, maybe we could buy you some Legos so we can play together and you can use with yours while I play with mine”
D: “Lucy, let me show you something”
[shows Lucy 5 storage boxes overflowing with Legos saved from childhood]
L: *5 minutes of silence trying to comprehend*
Lucy: “Grace, are you poopy?”
Dad: “No, she’s not”
Lucy: “Oh, I thought I smelled a stinky poop”
Dad: “Maybe you just tooted”
Lucy: “Oh that’s right. I did. Excuse me”
