The raging knight raced fist-first toward his enemy, covered by volleys of emerald missiles launched from a sea of translucent hard-light trebuchet's. Then, the green bullet himself met the yellow lantern, rolling at an extended distance below to keep out of range.

The ring on Arkillo’s finger surges with light. Bladed constructs materialise, crawling along his knuckles as though they were supposed to be there from his inception. Augmented by the light, and lusting after blood, Arkillo throws a barrage of pummelling shots at Kilowog’s ——

atmosphere. It surges with the fury of a sun, and a spiked flail, more akin to a maw than a mace appears in his hand. A weapon of mass destruction.

“Again!”

The planets turn beneath him and he finds himself adrift, unmoored against the architecture of space. Arkillo recognises the distant flare of a dying light, breaching the event horizon, and the rotation of worlds that possess no knowledge of the violence unfolding above it. ——

Lightning roared through the netted muscle of pigskin, and flexed in an attempt to shield from the crushing grip. "Agh!" Kilowog cursed out, taking breaths that never pulled air, but freezing lava. As color clashed in vibrant neon unison, the Green Lantern lifted tree-trunk —

the skies. He moves with unfettered speed and the void itself trembles in response. Arkillo shrugs, unfazed by the searing pain of his shoulder that shoots down to the bones of his hands, grits his savage teeth and allows his ring to ignite as Kilowog punches through the ——

Blood freezes quickly in the vacuum of space. Any that has been privileged enough to behold a Lantern knows this. Arkillo watches claret bead along his knuckles, darkening in starlight before crystallised fragments drift from his fist. Victory.

Something burns at the edge of the sector. Caught between systems, the shape of something shimmers, obscured by the violence of its own unmaking. Wreckage tumbles through the exanimate space that separates worlds, mechanisation tangled within the fear that spreads between stars.

The void unfurls, crowded with the dying songs of stars. An unfettered and invisible violence exists here, recognisable only by those that choose to bear witness. Ancient radiation lingers from that which ceased to exist long before the memory of the cosmos cared to learn names.

Starlight curled across the void, its pale embers reaching out across the endless black, struggling and drowning in an ocean without shore. Worlds turn soundlessly, driven by the weight of their own histories, suns burning with the indifferent fury of some ancient, cosmic, being.

Fear had found its voice, once more.

Crimson sand lurched from the earth beneath the violence, scattering in red sheets around the two Lanterns. Kilowog was a blunt instrument, a hammer brought down upon wet stone, and his target staggered beneath the impact, if only for the fraction of a second. ——

"Sure, I'll help ya look up there!" With adrenaline bursting from his seams, the lantern rammed his flat forehead directly into his nemesis's mouth, feeling mandibles crack under the impact of his hammer-like forehead.

Spurned by the maelstrom of malice, his ring answered before the thought, and gold poured from Arkillo’s hand. Its light climbed the ruined sky, staining cloud, stone and flesh in its wake.

The colour of a cosmic warning. ——
