oh, madam herta. you still think what i have is "luck."
tell me, esteemed genius, what kind of twisted luck befalls a sole survivor? i see no need to avoid speaking candidly with someone as...objective as you.
my "luck" has killed many, and ruined many more.
(+)
A shame really. Truly a shame.
With all those resources, experiences, โluckโ and even the connections you made, any number of you could have made it out. You or Topaz for example shall we say?
If you played your cards right you could potentially be free, but despite acting+
(+)
even if i...escaped, who's to say if that would make me a better person? i'd wager it wouldn't. the only "change" i'm capable of is swapping personas to seal deals. surely, someone of your intelligence can see i'm a branded machine?

@sanguinecrown (he halts, the gears in his head jamming. he forces himself to maintain eye contact, but something in his gaze is cracked.)
there is no world in which i don't feel guilt, friend. it doesn't change anything. guilt won't bring anyone back, and it won't absolve me.
(+)
that, friend, is my sole freedom. approaching conversations like this with unadulterated transparency. i am a lab rat, and topaz is a lab rat, and so on down until the workers that get killed on the front lines.
this is a truth i live and breathe. the only truth.
ask anyone else in the IPC, and theyโll tell you their excuse for that. weโre generously using our huge pool of funds to solve everyone elseโs problems, out of the kindness of our pure, magnanimous hearts.
ask me, and iโll tell you what you already know:
(+)
I understand we live in very different worlds, very different circumstances. Yet should work not be rewarded?
It would seem any reward you get is just another asset to pretty up your portfolio for the next task no?
Is that what you would call luck?
(+)
that the IPC cares only for control, and it enjoys controlling its own members just as much as planets indebted to it. there has not been a single point in my career that i have been unaware of this fact; i hardly even bother trying to hide it.

@sanguinecrown you killed your father, and youโre comparing me to him. pardon me while i process all of that.
iโve always been a โsigonian thrall,โ isnโt that right? did mr. dan heng tell you what happened to the other ones? what i did to them?
what part of me is โactingโ like i have power?
pfft, youโre asking me to buy myself out from under the likes of jade and diamond. my life is worth thirty tanba, and compared to them, so is my net worth!
of course i canโt buy my way out. for every chain i hold, thereโs another around my wristsโa heavier one.
Is that so?
Then answer me this: If money solves nearly any problem why do you still have to do dirty work?
Why do you still have to serve their whims.
If money could solve it why havenโt you bought your way out?
The answer is you canโt.
Is that right?
@sanguinecrown oh, is mr. stellaron ratting me out for fun now? what could you know about the power iโve been told i have?
perhaps as a show of it, i should seize amphoreus as nothing more than a commercial asset?
itโs not the IPCโs fault that money solves almost every problem when youโre the one with an overabundance of it.
in fact, let me demonstrate. iโd love the opportunity to throw money at your head.
without unreasonable force, obviously.
Now for my next hypothesis: does aventurineโs luck match his bark or is he all bark and no bite.
Oh I almost forgot, the IPC would rather throw money at their problems than have any sort of debate that isnโt profit driven.
Oh well time for the experiment then.
