@sitkamedia He’s the biggest thief of public and common land. If there’s no treaties, that doesn’t mean we need to rewind time and pretend we lost a war. It’s 2026, let’s frame an inclusive future that includes Reconciliation that brings people together.
@CreesOnCBC We all want to bring equity to struggling Indigenous groups but I’m confident our Supreme Court will overrule any wonky decision this court tries to make. Let’s all work together within existing institutions to make Canada better. We’re in it together 😀 🇨🇦
@nationalpost …in all seriousness, it’s also used to show the movement of the Big Dipper through the seasonal changes (it rotates throughout the year). Likely why it’s ancient among many cultures on this planet.
@BCFriendlyTodd@NVanCaroline Appreciate the discussion… I support financial compensation distributed equally which they have the freedom to spend but have the opportunity to spend on programs/land to heal past colonization. I’m against race based policy and unreasonable land grants from public land.
@BCFriendlyTodd@NVanCaroline Not sure how Sec 27 gives certain groups superior rights based on race. Canada is multicultural, & that’s great, but we are to be governed by one set of federal and provincial law. There can be minor accommodations (ie: ceremonial fishing) but not banning people from public land.
@BCFriendlyTodd@NVanCaroline I respect and admire First Nations culture and I believe in recognizing past policies that harmed them and striving to make things right and address inequities, but they are not a nation within a nation. There cannot be different laws based on race in Canada.
@ctvwinnipeg That’s not even the ways it’s done… I’m not a journalist and have never used the sign but the so-called racist version is held down, fingers facing down. How stupid is the reporting on this? Very disappointed in CTV journalism or lack there of. 😢
@CHEK_News Interesting, I’m not doubting the overall direction of this article, but my wife grew up in this area and she remembers a boat coming and harvesting all the kelp in front of their beach cabin in the early 80s. I wonder if this was accounted for in their study
@BloombergTV He doesn’t understand America… they’ll transport refined oil from gulf refineries to where it’s needed by truck or rail if they have to, they’ll close highways and rail corridors to public if need be. The US has lots of oil, it’s a matter of distribution.
@garymasonglobe What are you talking about? You can criticize her policy but why do you think she’s promoting America? When did you stop being a journalist?
@jessecmccormick Anybody and lots of people have this connection to Joffre Lakes but access during the restricted period is restricted to ancestry. If you can’t recognize racism maybe you should read To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
@CanadaBrazil Just so you know, these rights are protected by our constitution in Canada. If you wanna help out, reaffirm, private property rights. Appreciate it, visit again soon.
