As my X account has been “throttled” acc to @grok - after a deal was done between @elonmusk & the Pakistani government to lift their x ban, this is a request to UK based Pakistanis an any of those who are able to read this tweet (unlike those in Pakistan) to please RT and help get this message out.
My sons Sulaiman & @kasim_khan_1999 applied for visas in January (again… ) to allow them to visit their father @ImranKhanPTI in Pakistan. The Pakistan consulate states that online visa processing normally takes 7–10 working days. It has now been 60 days. This despite the public promise that they could safely travel there to see their father after 4 years, made by both Defence Minister @khawajaMAsif to @mehdirhasan & PM spokesperson @mosharrafzaidi to @SkyYaldaHakim
Meanwhile, they are not allowed to speak to him on the phone, nor send him a letter. They haven’t seen him since 2022 after he was shot in an assassination attempt.
This is an appeal directly to Pakisan’s PM @CMShehbaz to please allow Imran Khan’s two sons to see their father asap, particularly since, by all accounts, his health is in decline.
The month of Quran is upon us, and I wanted to reshare a personal story about what it means to exert yourself with it in Ramadan.
In 2006, I told my mom (may Allah have mercy on her) that my Shaykh challenged his students to elevate their Ramadan Quran goals and read significantly more than they had in previous years. She told me that she also intended to take it to the next level that year and would join in. By the end of Ramadan, the Shaykh had finished 8 readings (2 of which were in Qiyam), and I barely got past 2. My mom on the other hand would read half the Quran a day finishing 14 complete khatms in 29 days. I saw her push herself that year like never before and thought this was the type of Ramadan you only read about in the books of history. She busied herself with the Quran seemingly every minute even as she moved between other daily tasks.
It turned out that would be her last Ramadan, and what a Ramadan to meet her Lord with.
Now obviously different people have different circumstances. Some have larger workloads they still need to maintain, some have language barriers, some have burdensome family duties. Just know that Allah is most Kind, and will reward your sincere efforts according to your circumstances. But all of us could do better by elevating our Quran goals this Ramadan in our homes. Ramadan is the month of Quran, and the Quran is what we nourish our hearts and souls with as we remain physically restrained.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The Qur'an will come on the day of judgement in the form of a bright man and say, "I am the one who kept you up at night, and thirsty throughout the day." (Ibn Majah)
May Allah make us amongst the people of Quran, now and forever. May the Quran be the spring of our hearts, the light of our chests, and the reliever of our distress. Ameen

Gary Lineker suspended by the BBC for upsetting the Conservatives because he stood up for some of the most vulnerable people in the world. The same BBC whose chairman gave the Conservatives £400,000 before helping to arrange an £800,000 loan for Boris Johnson
Sorry?
Boris Johnson, the former Prime Minister was allowed to lead this nation after calling Muslim Women “Letterboxes”, saying Africans had “Watermelon smiles” and gay men were “bum boys”
But Gary Lineker gets dropped from presenting a Football highlight show in just days?
