Absolutely. Itโs beyond deplorable. Thereโs nothing quite as abhorrent as having your privacy invaded and your personal belongings interfered with without your knowledge or consent.
Howโs your Friday, okes? ๐ญ Because this side, laptops are DEFINITELY not closing shame! ๐ณ๐ Itโs giving โweekend cancelled until further notice.

๐๐ Iโm here doing a little site recce for the Sun City takeover by @HomeComingEvent . Just kiddingโฆ unless? ๐๐! Ka tsameka ๐๐๐
Manifestation disguised as a joke. ๐ญ
Itโs crazy because I thought of this exact concept two or three years ago โ ice already packaged in a cup, conveniently available at garages and stores. At the time, I convinced myself it probably wouldnโt work or that people wouldnโt buy into it.
And now look! Iโm seeing different companies doing exactly that, and it makes so much sense. ๐ What a convenient, simple concept.
It really reminded me of that saying: when you have an idea, just start. Sometimes we overthink ourselves out of ideas that actually have legs, and while weโre still questioning them, somebody else executes.
I canโt wait to see these at events and in more petrol stations across the country. Such an interesting concept โ and definitely a little lesson for me too: next time, execute! ๐ฉ๐
Thank you for the response. I will send my booking reference via DM.
However, I do want to be clear that my concern is not with legitimate security screening. I fully understand that authorised security personnel may need to inspect luggage. My concern is that this is now the second time I have collected my luggage after flying with @FlySafair and found it unlocked and open.
If a bag needs to be inspected for security purposes, surely there should be a process that ensures it is properly secured afterwards โ and ideally some indication that an authorised inspection took place. As a passenger, I should not be left wondering whether my luggage was legitimately searched, mishandled, or accessed by someone who was not authorised to do so.
Thankfully, nothing appears to have been stolen on this occasion, but that does not make the experience acceptable. I would appreciate a proper investigation with the baggage handling service provider and specific feedback on what happened, rather than a generic response.
Iโll send the booking details via DM and look forward to your feedback once this has been investigated.
Hi Rabi, we're sorry to hear this has happened again.
We understand your concern, particularly as this is the second time you've collected your luggage and found it unlocked. Luggage may be inspected by authorised security personnel for screening purposes as part of the airport security process. We do, however, agree that baggage should be returned in a secure condition following any inspection.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Please send us your booking reference via DM so that we can escalate the matter to the relevant team and ensure your concerns are addressed with the baggage handling service provider. -AP
Ahhh Sibu ๐ฅนโค๏ธ Right back at you! Thereโs something so special about growing, evolving and winning alongside people you genuinely love and respect. Iโm so proud of us โ and weโre only getting started! ๐ฅน๐ฅโค๏ธ
@FlySafair , this is honestly unacceptable.
This is now the second time Iโve collected my luggage only to find that my bag has been unlocked and left open, despite it being locked when I checked it in.
Thankfully, nothing was stolen, but that is not the point. Why is my luggage being opened, and why is it being returned to me unsecured? Are we now forced to wrap our bags just to make sure they arrive in the same condition we handed them over?
I understand that there may be legitimate security reasons for inspecting luggage, but surely there must be a proper process and accountability when this happens. Passengers entrust you and the airport personnel handling our luggage with our personal belongings.
Once is concerning. Twice is a problem.
FlySafair, please look into this properly โ including the people entrusted with handling our luggage.
And please, when you respond to this, do not send me one of your automated or rehearsed customer-service scripts. I would appreciate a proper response that actually addresses what happened, why my locked luggage was opened, and what you intend to do about it.
Sibu, this is SO powerful! ๐ฅ And what a blessing to be in rooms with women who are operating at that level and are willing to mentor and pour into you. ๐ฅน๐๐ฝ
But that GP lesson? Yoh! PROFIT MUST BE EVERYONEโS PROBLEM! That really landed for me too. Especially as someone building and restructuring a business, it completely shifts how you think about accountability across the entire team. Everyone needs to understand that their role either protects or erodes profitability.
And I love the other side of it too โ if everyone carries the responsibility, everyone should feel the benefit when the business wins.
Watch out world indeed! ๐๐ฅ Iโm definitely taking this lesson with me. Thank you for sharing, Sibu! โค๏ธ
Yesterday I sat in a boardroom with two women who run a business that does work in my industry. Iโm so inspired by them. There are areas where we compete and others where we can compliment each other. They have declared themselves my mentors ๐ฅน๐๐๐ผ Watch out world. Iโm about to be up in a big way.
Anywayโฆ
The business they runs makes over R350million a year and they employ 260 permanent staff.
One key thing they told me was that each person on their leadership team has an assigned Gross Profit target. The GP is not only the EXCOs problem.
That snapped something in me. Profitability is everyoneโs problem and it must also be to everyoneโs benefit.
The cleaning staff must be as precious about managing inventory supply as the MD is about bringing in revenue. The social media manager must be as precious about doing work efficiently as the strategist is about coming up with efficient plans etcโฆ
Then, when itโs time for dividends, everyone must benefit whether itโs through bonuses, profit share or increases.
In MY businessโฆ PROFIT MUST BE EVERYONEโs PROBLEM.
Lebo ๐ญ๐ PLEASE! I fully support this! Letโs pick a time and all scream together at the exact same moment because wow, guysโฆ LIFE! ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ Maybe the universe will hear us and give us a little break! ๐
Lebo ๐ฉ๐ and this week is another Burger Day! Yoh, thereโs honestly something every single week with these schools โ Pizza Day, Slippers Day, Hot Chocolate Day, Burger Dayโฆ ๐ญ๐ And the fact that this term is shorter? We are IN IT shame! ๐๐ No breathing room for the parents!
