This was truly an experience of a lifetime! Huge thank you to @joegibbsracing and @dennyhamlin for an amazing memory for my family today when we visited on my daughter’s birthday!
One thing that has been difficult after losing @KyleBusch is being able to sit in front of the tv and watch a race flag-to-flag… Another is being able to pick a driver that I liked as much as much as I did Kyle.
Figured that, every Sunday before the race for as long as I can go, I would share a KFB memory and the story behind it.
Kyle loved @CBellRacing. Almost to the point where I would say stop talking about CBell so much 🤣😅. There was no doubt in KB's mind Christopher is the best Cup driver in the garage. As KB got deeper into dirt racing, I believe that bonded them even more, and CB really coached him and looked up to him. I'm happy they had these moments. ❤️
That pause before climbing in and tapping the black 8 decal…i can’t imagine what he’s going through. No driver ever wants to step into someone else’s car under these circumstances…
Asked Chase Elliott if he has considered recusing himself from the Most Popular Driver Award voting to allow Kyle Busch that honor, as his father Bill did when Dale Earnhardt died in 2001.
"I would be in extreme favor of Kyle winning the vote. I think that he's a guy that certainly poured a lot of his life into this sport. Although he might've been getting boos a lot of weeks, he also had a lot of fans, and a lot of really passionate fans.
"I really haven't processed all of that, I guess, to get to that point. But I would certainly be in favor of him winning and whatever it took. Yeah, I think it would be really deserving for him to have that honor."
The Joe Gibbs Racing No. 54 team, for whom Kyle Busch earned so many of his O'Reilly Series wins, has placed the Rowdy insignia on the namerail of their car driven by Taylor Gray
A memorial decal has also been added to each of the JGR cars.
