Claiming the Tolkien Legendarium has a single canon is like claiming the same of Greek mythology. These are myths, fairy tales, legends. They are passed through history with different biases and interpretations.

@Somebod27828815 I really like Arondir, his choreography is fun but still more grounded in real archery than Legolas' stunts (which I also love, to be clear).
His "forgiveness" moment was beautiful and I loved his brief fall into vengeance. Excited to see him so prominent among the Elven leaders!

Arondir is a Silvan Elf, of the Nandor, of the Úmanyar.

Tolkien only said that the Ñoldor are fair-skinned.

Tolkien's mythology draws inspiration from many cultures, and very obviously not just from Anglo-Saxon.
Harad, Khand, and Rhûn exist for example.

@XWnHIST As funny as this post is, it's not true. @jessicannatar is certainly not the median Tolkien fan, but an exceptional one.
I would say the median SW fan, a casual who rarely rewatches the films, knows George had vaguely progressive political opinions, but not much more than that.

She lacks much concrete characterization (like most Second Age characters), and with how Galadriel is characterized in this series, I think Celebrían would be very dynamic.

Now, with just 5 minutes before the finale airs, I just want to say I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's thoughts and feelings about this season, and I think the community is even better now than it was for Season 1.

An absolutely momental episode which I'll be studying for some to come, but for now suffice to say that I felt season 2 episodes 5 6 and 7 felt on par with the LotR film trilogy.

Oh and I think I am now rooting for him to be #Gandalf rather than a Blue Wizard, but either way I'm not happy about how this show has squandered the potential of the Blue Wizards by introducing an evil one already.
There's still a way for them to correct that, but who knows.
