@MikeBenzCyber Canada already has that (obviously). It's not as bad as it sounds, you see a row of CBC bullshit near the top and you just scroll past it.
@thegr8overton@PaleoGOP He was not making fun of them. The joke is that people want to say things like that but can't in polite society, so he says them as a joke which allows for a feeling of release and laughter. OPs comment was accurate in the context of a soundbite.
In a recent YouTube video, Mark Carney had a confession to make: he will not meet Liberal emissions targets.
At least he was honest about that.
So, let's be honest about this: he pretends phasing out oil and gas was someone else's idea.
For a decade he was the worldwide CEO of the idea. He built his entire persona around Net Zero.
He claimed fossil-fuel-caused climate change was an "existential crisis", which in plain English means the world could end.
He was the UN's Special Envoy for Climate Action and Finance where he recommended 65% of oil and gas should stay in the ground.
As Trudeau's Economic Advisor, he advised bigger and broader carbon taxes than even Trudeau had imposed.
He founded a banking alliance with the mandate to starve oil and gas of investment.
At Brookfield, his job was to use his political influence to get government handouts for his "green" investments (heat pumps, pricey "green" aviation fuel, etc.).
He made fortunes off an agenda that inflated costs and killed jobs for the working class around the world.
He didn't inherit this ideology. He built it. He milked it.
Now, he claims he changed his mind. Really? So, it’s no longer an existential crisis? Was he wrong for last decade?
If so, why go on hiking the industrial carbon tax by 500%?
Why has he not scrapped a single Trudeau-era anti-development law?
Why are 500 projects still waiting for federal approval?
Why has he not used his unprecedented powers in Bill C-5 to approve a single project?
Because it is all an illusion.
It was always about enriching the club. And it still is.
He will sound the alarm on new crises. The solution will be the same: heavy-handed, top-down crony capitalism—taxes, inflation, and debt for you, and handouts, bailouts, and carve-outs for the Liberal club. All to save us from the latest crisis.
The only way to change any of this is with a party that has been saying the same thing all along: get the government out of the way; free our businesses from all carbon taxes, red tape, and subsidies to unlock abundant, affordable energy. For Canada. For you.
I understand the point, and it's worth taking seriously. Yes, you must work to live. But look at why that's true, because the reason changes everything.
The need to produce isn't imposed by employers or capitalism. It's imposed by nature. A man alone on an island must fish, build, and grow or he dies. That's not a threat from another person. It's the basic condition of being alive. Food, shelter, and clothing don't exist until someone makes them.
So when you say work is "forced" by the threat of starvation, that threat comes from reality itself, not from the man offering you a job. He didn't create your need to eat. He's offering you a way to meet it, a trade, his wealth for your effort. That's not coercion. Coercion is a gun. An offer you can refuse, even a hard one, is the opposite of force.
And here's the part the resentment hides. The employer isn't your enemy in this. He's the one who built the thing that lets you meet nature's demand without fishing alone on a rock. The men who produce the most, the ones who create the factories, the tools, the jobs, are the greatest benefactors of all, because they multiply what every worker can earn far beyond what he could alone.
That's why the moral debt runs the other way. We don't owe our lives to the takers. We owe an enormous debt to the producers, whose ability raises the standard of living of everyone beneath them. The man who gives you a way to live has done you good, not harm.
Once again, we see that Canada defines itself as Not-America.
So much so that in the very video where they try to explain their national identity, they require Straw-America as a prop.
But, having embraced multiculturalism and ethnic erasure of White people, they have painted themselves into a corner. Any positive Canadian identity, which identified Canada as what it is, rather than what it is not, would by definition distinguish it from other countries in the world, rather than just America. And this would exclude people of and from those cultures from being Canadian.
Which would be racist, or something.
So what this ends up meaning is that you may talk about what distinguishes Canada from America, and why Canadians are not American and Americans are not Canadian.
But you may NOT talk about what distinguishes Canada from India, and why Canadians are not Indian an Indians are not Canadian.
Or they'll throw you in jail.
No culture, group, or organization can survive indefinitely by defining itself with a negative, which is why, for example, there are no atheist churches.
Canadians, accordingly, now share no common values, no common ethos, telos, or even logos, have nothing they can agree on, and nothing that binds them together other than physical geolocation and legal jurisdiction.
This is not patriotism, and patriotism, while it is regarded by liberals as a sort of embarrassing social disease, is actually required to get humans to act in concert for mutual good.
Canadians need something to celebrate on Canada Day other than their fear and resentment of Americans who barely think about them at all in any given month.
I honestly don't know what the average Canadian would say, if he was asked to define a Canadian without referencing America. If he was asked to define a Canadian in a way that didn't include Brits or Australians. If he was asked to define a Canadian in a way that didn't include government programs and minor food idiosyncrasies.
You can't just be the nation of gravy and cheese curds on fries.
You have to stand for something.
Everything you’ve ever been taught through the education system, everything the government tells you, every Hollywood film, every documentary, every TV advert for the past 80 years has been designed so you never research this man’s world view.
If you were born in America, you’re an American. You have a right to live here. Unless of course you’re American. In which case you’re living on stolen land.
Canada: Crying Over Spilt Milk in a Self‑Inflicted Stagnation
Canada’s elite have spent a quarter‑century turning a rich, opportunity‑dense economy into a slow‑growth, over‑levered cul‑de‑sac, and they still insist nothing is structurally wrong. There is no sense crying over spilt milk about past mistakes when the architects of this stagnation are still in charge and still in denial.
Canada did not just drift into secular stagnation; it embraced a kind of virtue socialism and an industrial policy anchored on climate change targets rather than productive capacity, competitiveness, or growth. An economy built on world‑class natural resources, strategic geography, and human capital has been deliberately downgraded into a housing‑addicted, low‑productivity balance sheet recession risk, and the people who did it still show up on panels calling this “resilience.”
For years, Canada’s comparative advantages in energy, resources, and industrial capacity were something to apologize for, regulate to death, or tax into oblivion, while policy and capital chased the illusion that you could mortgage and virtue‑signal your way to prosperity. The result is a country flirting with a liquidity trap, where even lower rates may barely move a real economy suffocated by over‑priced assets, under‑built productive capital, and households too damaged to borrow again.
The real scandal is not that Canada faces secular stagnation; it is that the elite engineered it, denied it, wrapped it in climate rhetoric, and now blame external shocks while the data scream that this is a made‑in‑Canada crisis.
To be clear, Canada’s problems are not the result of President Trump!
If Canada’s elite will not finally admit that decades of attacking its own strengths, worshipping its own bubbles, and treating industrial policy as a morality play have left the country one downturn away from a full balance sheet recession, then they are not guardians of the national interest, they are custodians of decline, and at this point, there really is no sense crying over spilt milk, only over the refusal to fix the mess they made.
BREAKING: Economists downgrade growth to the worst in a decade (outside COVID). That makes Carney’s growth record worse than Trudeau’s.
Let that sink in.
He’s delivered the only recession and the worst food inflation among G7 countries.
You can’t grow an economy with bailouts, handouts, and carveouts for the Liberal Club.
We grow it through low taxes, affordable prices, and opportunity for all.
These geniuses think it’s more efficient to cool the entire earth than it is to cool some homes. These are the people we have to share this planet with.
Nicholas Kristof has donated exactly 0 dollars over the course of his life to any African aid programs btw. He makes over 300,000 a year, and owns his own winery.
He is literally the 1% of this country but Liberia being a failed state is somehow Musk's fault.
If any of this is Elon's fault then it's also your fault and you should have all your assets stripped from you and given to oogaboongo in Africa so he can keep raping the village women with twigs and dirt.
Give Mandami credit. He is doing exactly what he said he would do when elected. He is turning New York into a socialist/communist anti American city by getting “politicians” like Darializa Avila Chevalier elected. Here is just a sampling of things Chevalier has said, tweeted or done. (This is not an onion article. These are all facts)
Founded a group at Columbia with the express goal of overthrowing western society
Called all white women ugly colonizers while criticizing interracial relationships
Wishes she could wipe her ass with a the American flag
Waved a Hamas flag the day after October 7th attacks
Wants no borders
Wants to abolish the police
Wants to abolish prisons
Against all deportations. Clarified that even if a non citizen murders or rapes somebody deportation is immoral
Said all of the United States is on stolen Native American land
Things she has not done in her career. Had a job.
On the brightside though at least she never said America deserved 9/11. (At least that we are aware of yet) Unfortunately the other candidate Mamdani endorsed Aber Kawas did say that. And got elected. In NYC. What a world
