Radio Watermelon is a volunteer-led group working to enable Palestinians to connect directly to the World by platforming their words & amplifying their stories.
Good day everyone. Donations to families in Gaza have dried up but if you listen to the Palestinians in our X spaces, you'll learn that their needs have only increased. Join us in our upcoming space and listen for yourselves. 🇵🇸❤️

Gaza Is Hungry for Hope
Start with a Meal
Every passing minute puts my grandmother’s life at greater risk as she urgently needs her heart medication. I am reaching out for your urgent support. While $70 might seem like a small amount to some, it means everything to us—

Renad Sami Tamer
@Renaamadi20
Renad Sami Tamer is a 21-year-old university student who lives with her family of seven in a rented apartment that costs 1,200 shekels per month. Before the genocide, her father worked as a company manager but went missing at the beginning of the siege and has not returned. Her mother, a former nurse, retired due to diabetes, while one of her sisters lives with a condition affecting the middle layer of her ear. The family has been displaced 19 times since the genocide began and now shares a small apartment after losing their home. Renad had just started her first year of university when the siege interrupted her studies. A top student who graduated from school with honors, she lost her laptop and educational materials when her house was destroyed. Today, she hopes to continue her education, obtain a new laptop, cover her university expenses, and help pay off her father's debts, while her family struggles with the costs of rent and daily living after repeated displacement.

Reem Alnaami
@EmMohamed316663
Reem Alnaami, a 43-year-old married mother of nine, lives with her husband and their nine children, making a family of 11, in a worn-out makeshift tent on their own land. Their original home was completely destroyed, and they have been displaced five times since the genocide began. Her husband, who was injured during the siege, has a platinum implant in his leg that stops him from working. He needs monthly medications that cost around $300 and depends on a medical device that requires a large replacement battery. Reem herself has a pierced eardrum and needs a $1,500 surgery to prevent permanent hearing loss. Among their children, one is kindergarten age and eight are school-aged, but none can attend school because the family cannot afford the monthly fees of $600–700. With no steady income and no one in the family able to work, they struggle to pay for food, medicine, and daily essentials, sometimes skipping dinner. The tent is in urgent need of repairs with new tarps, and they do not have enough blankets to keep everyone warm. A stronger shelter is necessary to protect them from rain, leaks, and flooding. Their eldest son has been engaged for two years, but the family cannot afford the wedding. Despite these difficulties, Reem and her husband keep working to keep their family safe and fed. Any support, whether donations for the medical battery, shelter improvements, treatments, school fees, or basic needs, or simply words of encouragement, would help ease their daily hardships.
