Entendendo Pendle de uma vez por todas

Nas últimas semanas muitas pessoas ficaram curiosas/confusas de como realmente funcionam o PT/YT que são negociados na Pendle, então resolvi trazer essa thread para tentar te explicar de uma vez por todas.

Usando o exemplo de “mint” fica mais fácil de entender…

Todo ativo depositado na pendle possui Principal Token (PT) e Yield Token (YT).

PT = o real valor do ativo ao final de um período

exemplo: 1 ETH-PT = 1 ETH no dia 24/04

YT = o rendimento que aquele ativo rende durante o período

Exemplo: 1 ETH-YT = $146 de rendimento até o dia 30/04

Por que PT é negociado com desconto?
Porque enquanto houver rendimento (até a data de vencimento) 1 ETH-PT não vale 1 ETH

Onde surgem as oportunidades e por que tanta euforia com a chegada dos LRTs?

Basicamente agora é possível alavancar seu ganho de pontos, 1 ETH compra 18 YT que consequentemente geram pontos como se você tivesse 19 ETH na Etherfi/EigenLayer

Lembre-se que no vencimento o rendimento acaba, logo esse 1 ETH pago deixará de ter valor.

mas os degens estão apostando que o airdrop cubra esse “prejuízo”.

Do lado contrário dos degens existem investidores que buscam aumentar a quantidade de ETH e veem no desconto do PT uma oportunidade de garantir uma APR de 30 a 40% em ETH.

Esse é o exemplo dessa baleia que trocou 100 ETH por 106 PT da Renzo e terá uma rentabilidade de 3% ao mês, mas abrindo mão dos pontos (pois eles pertencem aos compradores de YT).

Também existem os LPs que proveem liquidez para os traders desse mercado, mas isso é explicação para outra thread.
