Rafal Kucharski's Lab @UrbMobRafal at Jagiellonian University in Poland. We research Urban Mobility, a complex system of urban space used by humans and machines.
New members in our lab:
⭕️ Łukasz Gorczyca - student assistant working on RL for CAVS
⭕️ Natello Descormier - research intern working on coalition game theory for CAVs
⭕️ Pawel Gora - part-time PostDoc aiming to beat RL benchmarks on collective routing for CAV fleets
Welcome!
@aonurakman had opened the #EWRL with a contributed talk on routing of autonomous vehicles,
presenting bits of our #RouteRL (https://t.co/pqMYCsGy32) and #URB benchmark (https://t.co/ZcvNUexsrQ) part of our #COeXISTENCE
see slides here: https://t.co/kAYLbNGLvK
🤔How to coordinate routing of AV fleets in mixed traffic? Presumably using Reinforcement Learning. Want to test various SOTA MARL algos and problem settings?
🚖🤖🚓
#RouteRL, fresh #MARL software from our lab is out: https://t.co/KKtmTkGTuF code: https://t.co/rPi31pB8qa
🚌more than 1000 travellers has used LajkBus service in Krakow,
You can use 'Uber-like` app to order a 6-seater and travel to Tram Hub
Organized by @krakow_pl
funded with @HorizonEU and
fuelled with our ExMAS-based analytics at @JagiellonskiUni

how do two-sided platforms like Uber grow?
Purely microscopic phenomena lead to complex patterns of market share evolution
Now, with our MoMaS you can simulate and understand why Uber prevailed, and its competitors (Bolt) enter the market with easy.

Visit us at #TRBAM today at 6PM for our poster: "Framework to Measure Properties of Microscopic Traffic Equilibria" by Grzegorz Jamroz and Zoltan Varga.
Join us to discuss properties of Agent-based assignment with SUMO

Want to see how #autonomous_vehicles can disturb our cities by applying #reinforcenment_learning in their route choices?
Join our tutorial at @MLinPL in Warsaw, next Sunday.

#EWRL2024 Meet us at @Univ_Toulouse where our PhD students Onur Akman and Anastasia Psarou are presenting novelties on how RL-enabled autonomous vehicles can optimize behavioral objectives by learning to choose better routes.

Pooled-rides with up to 14 travellers?
Attractive for all co-travellers?
Competitive with PT?
With average occupancy of 6(paxkm/vehkm)?
Yes!
With Oded Cats we had this funny idea of pooling pooled rides and it worked-check out our new hyper-pool paper: https://t.co/QLynvw6Jft
Michal Bujak recently focuses on the optimisation of pricing in ride-pooling, specifically, he aims to capture the true heterogeneous nature of the population. We are proud to share our first results published in Transportation! 🎉
https://t.co/2dwuoSfIHa
2/2 Later we join 2nd Central European Excellence in Transportation Research Association 𝐂𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐑𝐀 meeting, where Michal Bujak will present his pricing algorithm for ride-pooling. See you in Vienna!
@JagiellonskiUni@NCN_PL
1/2 Next week we present our ride-Pooling experiment at @IATBR1 in Vienna (https://t.co/TKiSrvg5Rh), we will show the potential of pooling with our ExMAS approach on 1.5 million trips from 6 months in NYC.
At @AaltoUniversity with presenters and listeners from @JagiellonskiUni to see new findings on UserEquilibrium, Ride-pooling and Machine Learning in Transportation Research #hEART
We are at excellent #heart2024 conference at #AALTO University. Michał Bujak, Grzegorz Jamróz and Zoltán Varga will present our progress and discuss future, see you in Helsinki.

Tomorrow Rafal gives an Opening lecture “Cities Managed by AI - Fiction or Reality” at Intl JU&MUNI Sustainability Days “Towards a Vision of Sustainable University”. Delivered to participants from 7 different Unis aiming to make their campuses sustainable.
@ERC_Research@NCN_PL
Let’s meet at Modelling conference https://t.co/Z3ZOXegTlV.
Members of our lab will present 5 contributions at Politechnika Krakowska, ranging from ride-pooling, to game-theory, to machine learning. See you at this most important venue for transport research in Poland.
How mobility platforms like Uber grow?
We introduce the agent based model that captures highly non-linear and microscopic phenomena, the first out there to reproduce the actually observed platform growth patterns.
We present it today at AAMAS conference in Auckland.
Grateful for our lab members for a wonderful Christmas party at Kazimierz in #Krakow. It was also the first time when our ERC #COeXISTENCE team meets in full and can integrate with the 'older' collegues. I wish us all the best for 2024! @JagiellonskiUni@ERC_Research@NCN_PL
