[1/2] On Sunday 28 June 2026, we honoured the 55,573 brave airmen of Bomber Command who lost their lives during the Second World War. As guardians of the Bomber Command Memorial, we are proud to host the service to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
It was a privilege for BBMF and RAF Coningsby to host Their Royal Highnesses The Princess of Wales and Prince George as we marked Armed Forces Day. A day to honour those who have given so much in service to our nation, both past and present.
Honouring Service and Sacrifice
Marking Armed Forces Day by reflecting on time spent with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby. Learning about the extraordinary history of these aircraft and meeting the pilots and engineers who keep their legacy alive. A powerful reminder of the courage, skill and dedication of those who serve, past and present. Thank you to all those who have served and continue to serve.
It’s Armed Forces Day, and we’re spending the weekend at the Aldershot National Event alongside teams from the @RoyalAirForce, @RoyalNavy and @BritishArmy.

🛩️ We’re proud to announce that the @RAFBBMF will return to the skies at the RAF Cosford Air Show on Sunday 14 June 2026, featuring the iconic Dakota flying alongside a Spitfire and Hurricane.
👨👩👧👦 This much‑loved formation is a highlight for visitors of all ages. As the Dakota flies on with the Spitfire and Hurricane, it offers a striking view that brings aviation history to life above Cosford.
🎖️ Together, these aircraft represent courage, teamwork and service. The Dakota, once used to carry troops and supplies, flying alongside the fighters that defended Britain’s skies, reflects the people who flew, maintained and supported them.
✨ A distinctive part of the flying programme, the BBMF formation offers a chance to pause, look skyward and enjoy a shared moment at Cosford 2026.
📣 Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see the Dakota, Spitfire and Hurricane flying together over Cosford once again.

Today’s @Telegraph article speaks for itself: “Throughout the Second World War, the Spitfire was the RAF’s premier front-line fighter….That link was marked on Tuesday by the two F-35 Lightnings, representing continuity between the fighter pilots of yesteryear and today.”
