🇪🇺 A #Cork il confronto con il Governo irlandese si è concentrato anche sul futuro bilancio europeo e sulle nuove strategie territoriali a cui stiamo lavorando.

Dopo l'approvazione della prima Strategia europea per le Isole, prosegue il lavoro sulla strategia "Right to Stay", per contrastare lo spopolamento e creare nuove opportunità di sviluppo nei territori.

🇮🇪 In #Cork, our discussions with the Irish Government also focused on the future European budget and the new territorial strategies we are working on.

Following the adoption of the first-ever European Strategy for Islands, work continues on the Right to Stay Strategy, aimed at tackling depopulation and creating new opportunities for development across our territories.

Con i ministri del Governo irlandese abbiamo avuto un confronto sui principali dossier europei. Ci aspettano mesi importanti e sarà fondamentale lavorare insieme per rafforzare la competitività dell'Europa, rendere la politica di coesione ancora più efficace, consolidare la nostra autonomia strategica e affrontare con stabilità le sfide che abbiamo davanti.

🇮🇪 In Cork, together with the entire College of European Commissioners, for the launch of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Together with the Irish Government ministers, we discussed the EU's key priorities and policy files. Important months lie ahead, and it will be essential to work together to strengthen Europe's competitiveness, make cohesion policy even more effective, reinforce our strategic autonomy, and address the challenges ahead with stability and determination.

Abbiamo discusso del sostegno allo sviluppo delle regioni di confine orientale dell’Unione europea, territori che svolgono un ruolo strategico per la sicurezza, la competitività e la coesione del nostro continente. Il dialogo con le autorità regionali è fondamentale per costruire politiche europee che rispondano in modo efficace ai bisogni dei territori.

🇬🇧 Today in #Brussels, I met with Milan Majerský, President of the Prešov Self-Governing Region (Slovakia🇸🇰); Rastislav Trnka, President of the Košice Self-Governing Region (Slovakia🇸🇰); Władysław Ortyl, Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship (Poland🇵🇱); and Tibor Szaniszló, Head of the Department for the Diaspora and International Relations.

We discussed support for the development of the eastern border regions, territories that play a strategic role for the security, competitiveness and cohesion of our continent. Dialogue with regional authorities is essential for shaping European policies that effectively meet the needs of these territories.

🇪🇺 Oggi a #Bruxelles al Collegio dei Commissari abbiamo approvato tre iniziative molto concreto:

1️⃣ rafforzare #Europol ed #Eurojust per contrastare criminalità organizzata, terrorismo e minacce transfrontaliere;

2️⃣ semplificare le regole sulle etichette energetiche e degli pneumatici, con informazioni più chiare per i consumatori e meno oneri per imprese e rivenditori;

3️⃣ aiutare cittadini e imprese a scegliere elettrodomestici, dispositivi elettronici e pneumatici più efficienti, durevoli e convenienti.

▶️Continua il nostro impegno per la semplificazione, un aspetto fondamentale per liberare il potenziale di sviluppo dell’Europa.

🇬🇧 Today in #Brussels, at the College of Commissioners, we approved three concrete initiatives:

1️⃣ strengthening Europol and Eurojust to fight organised crime, terrorism and cross-border threats;

2️⃣ simplifying the rules on energy and tyre labelling, with clearer information for consumers and fewer burdens for businesses and retailers;

3️⃣ helping citizens and businesses choose more efficient, durable and affordable appliances, electronic devices and tyres.

▶️ Our commitment to simplification continues. It is essential to unlock Europe’s growth potential.

🇪🇺🇪🇸Oggi la Commissione europea ha disposto un nuovo pagamento di 846 milioni di euro alla #Spagna per sostenere la ricostruzione delle aree colpite dalle alluvioni di Valencia del 2024.

Con i 100 milioni già versati in anticipo, il sostegno complessivo dell’UE raggiunge 945 milioni di euro: un intervento particolarmente significativo nella storia del Fondo di solidarietà europeo.

Risorse concrete per riparare infrastrutture, ripristinare servizi essenziali e accompagnare le comunità colpite nella ripresa.

🇬🇧 Today, the @EU_Commission has made a new payment of €846 million to Spain to support the reconstruction of areas affected by the 2024 floods in Valencia.

Together with the €100 million already paid in advance, total EU support reaches €945 million — one of the most significant interventions in the history of the European Solidarity Fund.

Concrete resources to repair infrastructure, restore essential services and support affected communities in their recovery.

🇪🇺🇮🇹 Oggi ho partecipato alla presentazione del Rapporto Annuale sulla ricostruzione del Centro Italia dopo il sisma del 2016.

Una tragedia che ha lasciato ferite profonde, soprattutto nelle comunità e nei territori colpiti. La ricostruzione resta una priorità, ma deve accompagnarsi a una visione più ampia: prevenzione, servizi, lavoro, competitività e opportunità concrete per i giovani.

La politica di coesione svolge un ruolo centrale in tutti questi aspetti. Per questo è fondamentale una collaborazione forte e concreta tra istituzioni europee, nazionali e regionali.

🇬🇧 Today I took part in the presentation of the Annual Report on the reconstruction of Central Italy following the 2016 earthquake.

A tragedy that left deep wounds, especially in the affected communities and territories. Reconstruction remains a priority, but it must be accompanied by a broader vision: prevention, services, jobs, competitiveness and concrete opportunities for young people.

Cohesion policy plays a central role in all these areas. This is why strong and practical cooperation between European, national and regional institutions is essential.

🇪🇺🇮🇹 Oggi a #Lecce, Conferenza sull’Housing Sociale.

La Commissione europea sta lavorando con pragmatismo. Dal Piano europeo per gli alloggi ai 3 miliardi di euro riprogrammati dai Fondi di coesione per rispondere all’emergenza abitativa: strumenti concreti, messi in campo con rapidità, per sostenere le fasce più vulnerabili della popolazione.

Ma il lavoro non si ferma qui. A breve adotteremo l’Affordable Housing Act, con nuove misure ambiziose per garantire a tutti — in ogni regione d’Europa — il diritto a un alloggio dignitoso. Perché la casa non è un privilegio: è una condizione essenziale di coesione sociale e territoriale.

🇬🇧 Today in Lecce, at the #SocialHousing Conference.

The @EU_Commission is working with pragmatism. From the European Housing Plan to the €3 billion reprogrammed under Cohesion Policy funds to address the housing emergency, we are delivering concrete tools, deployed rapidly, to support the most vulnerable segments of the population.

But our work does not stop here. In the coming weeks, we will adopt the Affordable Housing Act, introducing ambitious new measures to ensure that everyone — in every region of Europe — has access to decent and affordable housing.

Because housing is not a privilege; it is a fundamental condition for social and territorial cohesion.

🇪🇺 Ieri a #Strasburgo, insieme al collega @VDombrovskis, abbiamo fatto il punto al Parlamento europeo sullo stato di attuazione del NextGenerationEU.

Con il recente pagamento a #Italia e #Polonia, sono stati erogati complessivamente oltre 425 miliardi di euro agli Stati membri. Un risultato importante, reso possibile anche grazie al lavoro di semplificazione avviato dalla Commissione europea.

Entriamo ora nella fase finale di attuazione. I prossimi mesi saranno decisivi per completare gli investimenti e le riforme previste.

La Commissione europea è pronta a continuare a sostenere gli Stati membri affinché possano utilizzare al meglio il tempo e le risorse ancora disponibili, trasformando il RRF in un successo per tutta Europa.

🇬🇧 Yesterday in #Strasbourg, together with my colleague Valdis Dombrovskis, we took stock at the European Parliament of the implementation of #NextGenerationEU.

With the recent disbursements to #Italy and #Poland, more than €425 billion has now been paid out to Member States. This is an important achievement, made possible in part thanks to the simplification efforts launched by the @EU_Commission.

We are now entering the final phase of implementation. The coming months will be crucial to complete the planned investments and reforms.

The European Commission stands ready to continue supporting Member States so that they can make the best use of the time and resources still available, turning the Recovery and Resilience Facility into a success for all of Europe.

Abbiamo discusso delle grandi sfide del nostro tempo: dalla complessa situazione geopolitica internazionale alle trasformazioni che l’Europa è chiamata ad affrontare al suo interno.
Per rispondere a queste sfide serve una dimensione europea solida, forte dei valori che sono alla base del progetto europeo e che dobbiamo continuare a difendere e rafforzare.

🇬🇧 Today I was a guest of Bruno Vespa at the Forum in Masseria.
We discussed the major challenges of our time, from the complex international geopolitical situation to the transformations that Europe is being called upon to address internally.
To respond effectively to these challenges, we need a strong European dimension, firmly rooted in the values that are at the heart of the European project and that we must continue to defend and strengthen.
