moved from nyc to sf, thoughts after 3 weeks:
negatives:
crime: terrible. i've been shot at, robbed, tesla sentry notifications every morning
parking: i've paid more in tickets (and a tow fee😭) than months of car bills. feels like parking rules change every sec
positives:
literally everything else! I am in love with this city, I feel like I found my new home.
the people: everyone's so ambitious, it's cool to surround yourself with people on such high trajectories!
tech events: it's hard to explain the joy of being able to walk up to a conversation (that's not on discord) and I can autistically nerd out about my super niche special interests.
corgi cafe: It's an actual irl tv show💀 (jokes aside it's genuinely awesome) It's perfect for socializing (met so many cool people) or just locking in. I go multiple times a week. app devs can learn from their retention lol
the larping:
sorry @garrytan but larping is actually kinda fun! i've been dressing better, drinking more matcha (it's kinda growing on me). using "swee" to refer to my job, and embracing the tech bro lifestyle
will update again on week 6
