Nearly two years after the fall of Assad, I think Syrians should stop for a moment and look at what they have actually accomplished!

Syria went through 14 years of war.

Millions were displaced. Cities were destroyed. Infrastructure collapsed. The economy was strangled. Institutions were hollowed out. Entire generations grew up knowing nothing but war, fear and poverty.

And yet look at Syria today!

Security has improved. The state is being rebuilt. Electricity provision is increasing. Trade and services are expanding. Investment is returning. Refugees are coming home. Syria is reconnecting with the Arab region and the global economy.

The IMF now expects double-digit economic growth in 2026, with strong growth projected to continue in 2027. The World Bank describes the recovery as strengthening, with sanctions relief, returning refugees, improving electricity, investment and reconstruction driving the recovery.

The World Bank is now financing the restoration of water and health services for around 4.5 million Syrians, while new programmes are rebuilding Syria's financial and public institutions.

And perhaps the most powerful symbol of all:

Syrians are coming home!

Millions of refugees and internally displaced Syrians have returned since December 2024. UNHCR calls Syria a country at a critical juncture, with the return movement creating a historic opportunity for recovery.

This doesn't mean Syria is fixed.

Far from it.

Poverty is still enormous. Infrastructure remains devastated. Security is still fragile. Mines and unexploded ordnance remain a threat. Jihadism, extremist networks, foreign interference and armed groups remain serious problems.

There are still people who cannot afford a decent life.

There will be setbacks.

Two steps forward, one step back.

But that is not the same thing as failure.

Syria is rebuilding while still carrying the enormous weight of a war that destroyed almost everything around it.

And this is why I am optimistic.

If Assad's system spent roughly half a century destroying Syria, nobody should seriously expect Syrians to rebuild the country in five years!

It may take decades.

But the speed of change already tells us something.

The Syria of 2034 does not have to resemble the Syria of 2024.

If Syrians can maintain the current direction - rebuilding institutions, improving security, attracting investment, reconnecting with the Arab world, bringing refugees home and creating an economy where people can actually build their future - Syria could become one of the most important and dynamic countries in the region within this decade!

Not because someone is going to save Syria.

Because Syrians are saving Syria.

That is what every Syrian should be proud of.

The country was pushed into the darkness.

Now Syrians are dragging it back into the light.

I believe in Syria. 🇸🇾

Mughal rulers were probably much more better than these BJP rulers.

If you can’t respect other’s worship sites then either you are too insecure with your faith or your faith is weak in itself.
BJP is weak and so is their Hindutva Cult.

[Ustadh AbdulRahman Hassan @UstAbdulrahman]

If 'ibn Abd al-Wahhab' was a fanatical takfiri, a "neo-Khariji", why does the book he wrote say otherwise?

The Khawarij declared Muslims disbelievers for their sins.

In this clip, Ustadh AbdulRahman Hassan explains why people turned against the Shaykh: some over his da'wah, some over his history, and much of what is said about him simply made up.

The labels are in the clip. The book is in the full video. Judge him by what he wrote 👇
