MetroBall Future Hungry 6’0 2027 Rafriel Guthrie, Jr (McKinley Tech HS, DC) combines efficient three level scoring with exceptional playmaking and a high basketball IQ. He has blur like quickness attacking off the bounce and gets end to end with the dribble in a flash. Rafriel uses low quick crossovers and shifty footwork, timely hesitations accompanied by an explosive burst attacking space. He can drive hard in either direction and score it or create for others. Rafriel is a tough shot maker who knows how to create space with the dribble and get into his side steps and step backs. He has a deft shooting touch and is a threat from all areas both off the catch and off the bounce. His dribble pull-up is text book, automatic! As dynamic as his offensive game is he’s an equally impactful defensive player. Rafriel is a lock down on ball defender who can guard you 94’ and not get beat! In fact he’s more likely to take it away from you than you getting into your offense. He is instinctive and quick getting into passing lanes for steals. An overall disruptive defensive presence with elite athleticism and a great motor.
