For the first time in the history of Rutgers University, all three faculty, grad, EOF, and postdoc unions have voted to go on strike. Monday morning, we are ON STRIKE. See you on the picket line. #RUOnStrike
UCSD told workers they can only afford 85% of the typical number of TA jobs next year. Meanwhile, the UC Regents voted to give Chancellor Pradeep Khosla a $500,000 raise.
@UofCalifornia has the money for our contract. They just lack the will to implement it
Good morning and happy strike day 1! Our first picket is out on New Brunswick already! Featuring our favorite @r1coalition undergrads and two of our fierce grad leaders @dylantux & @CHcarges #nowbismillah#faircontractnow
Temple says they want more cops for "security." They already have the biggest, most expensive campus police force in the country. Cops are not the answer. We say no to TUPD and all police!

The wave of bomb threats against HBCUs is terrifying and should be of concern to ALL academic institutions, academic workers, and people who care about learning, and liberation.
apparently to @JasonWingard and @TempleUniv bringing in an expert in repression is a safety enhancement? 🤔 What about allowing online teaching, improving ventilation & access to (k)n95 masks, distributing health resources to the community? https://t.co/cHFKGGMkc4
An entire building at Bronx Community College has no HVAC, lots of leaks, lots of mold, and one person has a hole in his office ceiling. Trash from upstairs sometimes falls through this hole.
From r/Temple Reddit:
"Yesterday was nuts & only makes me more anxious. It wasn’t even that bad last semester. Wtf temple? Cramming us into them little ass classrooms like sardines. …bc ya know SOCIAL DISTANCING but I guess Temple was just like fuck that.”
Staff are working in person at School of Professional Studies....while 100% of students are online. Why do workers need to be there physically if there aren't any students there to benefit from their presence?
We're asking @BrownUniversity to bring back public reporting of COVID rates on campus, as they've told us to expect "significant levels of Omicron transmission" this spring. Why not report unless you've got something to hide? Sign our open letter here: https://t.co/qSCTMu6Izr
@CBSPhilly @HMonroeNews The bigger story is Temple’s revoking of safety protocols ot had last year and its refusal to allow remote instruction, including rejecting requests (with doctor’s letters) from immune-compromised faculty!
