I have the opposite problem of the average gamer:
I can lose 20x in a row in a fighting game: okay
I can lose 3X in Marvel Rivals: Turn that shit right off.
Im okay with taking accountability for being ass, but then when you have dumb team mates, I go 'what am i even playing lol".
Marvel Rivals Tournament for $40k: Fuck that we just here for the vibes 😘
Fighting game players competing over a case of Mountain Dew and a copy of Puyo Puyo Tetris:
On the low...Esports is one of the worst things to happen to the FGC.
Crazy to see how many of ya complain about EVO being control by Saudi and not realize how many more events are influenced or work directly with them because of the people they work with?
So what happens then..Boycott those events as well?
Cike....ya niggas love money too much to stick to boycotting every Saudi influenced or own event....
So shut up with all this political shit and let's play some fighting games.
Here's my problem though.
Have ya notice that we keep losing events both small and big in the past 5 years?
These million dollar circuits heavily influenced where pro players and top tier influencers go.
So if your event doesn't have these circuits with big pot bonuses and points systems....
Chances of your event success is way down due to pro players snd influencers not wanting to go to your event [I don't blame them honestly].
I love that our players is getting money btw....
I literally put pot bonuses in my own tournaments since 2009 starting with Umvc3.
But I'm super lucky and bless by my community to be one of the few standing to host larger scale events [not major] and even then...I'm always scare to go so far under to the point being officially done.
Esports slowly but surely blessed some grassroots event and made them into amazing events.
But the ones that didn't get blessed...that don't have those Esports circuits....that can't compete with those Premiere Esports Majors....
Good luck to them....cause it's a big struggle to keep them afloat.
Sucks to come onto Twitter and see what the FGC has "evolved" to.
I honestly hate a lot what I been seeing as someone who's been in this scene for way over a decade now.
I will always love the FGC....but I'm very worried for the future of fighting games and the community cause...
The C part of FGC was the most important thing to me...and day by day...
It's going from Fighting Game COMMUNITY to Fighting Game CORPORATE.
I love ya FGC....please be safe out here 🙏
