Lambang Babar Purnomo, seorang PNS arkeolog senior, alumni FIB UGM, ditemukan tewas di selokan di jalan lingkar luar utara Yogyakarta.

Dia baru pulang sekitar jam 4 pagi setelah bertemu dengan sejumlah teman arkeolognya.

Harusnya di hari itu, siangnya, dia menjadi saksi ahli dalam persidangan perkara kehilangan dan pemalsuan beberapa benda berupa arca, koleksi Museum Radya Pustaka, Solo.

Beberapa waktu sebelum kejadian, dia ditugaskan kantornya untuk pengambilan dan pengembalian benda pusaka ke tempat seharusnya.

Benda-benda itu akhirnya Pak Lambang temukan di bangunan rumah pribadi di Jakarta.

Milik siapa rumah itu?

Hashim Djojohadikusumo, adik Presiden Prabowo Subianto.

Setelah menjemput arca di rumah itu, Pak Lambang juga bilang bahwa ada fosil gading dan arca-arca lain tanpa dokumen.

Pak Lambang dijadwalkan menjadi saksi ahli di pengadilan untuk kasus ini.

Polisi menyatakan kematian Pak Lambang adalah karena kecelakaan tunggal sepeda motor.

Tidak ada yang janggal kata Polisi.

Tapi, ini janggal karena jenazahnya tidak menunjukkan kalau itu kecelakaan tunggal.

Setelah diotopsi, laporan medisnya bilang, ini tidak seperti biasanya kecelakaan tunggal sepeda motor

Dokter yang melakukan otopsi bilang kalau ini tidak seperti kecelakaan, tapi bisa jadi karena: kepalanya dipukul atau dipuntir.

"Seperti di film-film itu, lo, sampai bunyi krek."

Kutipan dokter itu dimuat di laporan Tempo tanggal 29 September 2008.

Tapi polisi tetap menyatakan itu kecelakaan tunggal.

Kematiannya tidak pernah dibawa ke pengadilan.

Kebetulan Tempo, beberapa bulan lalu mengangkat kasus ini sebagai kilas balik. Menarik disimak.
